OK so he fumbled two early balls, but on the plus side:

-The way he came and got in position to take the crosses he spilled was impressive and commanding, next week he will hold them as a matter of course. None of our other keepers are that commanding

-Although not that great, his kicking wasnt that bad. Much preferable to passing it to Yoshida at waist height!

-His distribution out of his arms was top class, he set off 2 or 3 very good counter attacks by rolling and throwing it out in "through ball fashion" down the wings

its pretty cool that he's a nutter as well. He communicated well with Fonte and Yoshida, yet has that air of danger about him so that no Arsenal players dared challenge him in the air or obstruct him at corners etc

Boruc does not fill me with confidence, i personally prefer our team with Kelvin Davis in goal. However if the manager picks Boruc then he is the one who knows whats what and that will do for me.

I always forget forums are full of the most close minded and ignorant people out there and Southampton fans seem to be the worst

Yet you base your expertise on Southampton fans, on how many visits to our board???
You have only posted a few times in total (52 at time of writing) yet you feel you can go onto a teams board with enough knowledge of the fans to be so critical?
Suggest you stay on your own board if that is all you have to offer as you are clearly not a good judge of character and your knowledge of football is limited. Especially being a Rangers fan............

In truth Boruc did not have much to do....he did have some nervous moments early in the game though. He did cause a few problems for Arsenal setting up some quick attacks from his throw outs. As someone else has said he tried to commmand his area and at least got into a position to gather the ball despite his fumbles. Which has been a weakness of late with everyone else who has played that position.
I was half expecting a reaction from him when the crowd cheered every time he cleanly caught the ball. He has learned a lesson well though, by the seem of it as there was none.

Maybe it's not saying much, but I think Boruc is the best keeper we have. He's the only keeper who hasn't cost us points yet, I think he has to be given a run in the side (and the benefit of the doubt from the fans); let's see what he's made of.

Agree. We have to stop chopping and changing. Either bring in a number 1 or play Boruc.

Boruc is Maverick. Davis is Goose. Gazza is Hollywood. We need Ice Man, but Mav is the best we have.

There you are guys.....a decent name for Boruc...Maverick.......Nice one oli....thats who he will be for me now on........<ok>

Happy New Year.
I prefer Davis in goal, but if Adkins selects Boruc then i shall do as you suggest and give him the benefit of the doubt. And i dont give him sarcastic cheers when he catches the bloody ball either - he wearing a Saints shirt after all !
