I see what happened now. The side swerve on that ball was great but that was really the icing on the cake. It wasn't the sideways movement on the ball it was the massive dip. Forster didn't think they could get the ball over the wall and back down, so he positioned himself to cover the right hand area of the goal and the wall covered angles on the left. That's why he was so far away from it.
 
Just got home, what a fantastic evening, the game, the atmosphere, everything was top class.

Too many positives to name individuals; suffice to say the scouting staff have done an absolutely incredible job.
 
Just got in, and what a fantastic stadium the Emirates is. Lovely ground to visit. Wow.

Thought we were excellent tonight, atmosphere superb, and the game as a whole was brilliant. Can't fault anything tonight <ok>

My analysis: Vic looks happier congratulating Clyne than he did when he scored.

And of course, what a strike. That was travelling!
 
Just got in from the game, absolutely delighted! What a performance! Tadic is an unreal player, and Mane looks a real differential who will cause defences endless problems. The midfield 3 were once again class; broke up play well and moved the ball excellently (Davis is particular was key 2nd half). Gardos was composed and authoritative - he complements Fonte. We seem to have figured out the balance of attacking threat and controlled play, and defensively seem solid. However, Arsenal offered little threat going forward, with Alexis dropping so deep to collect the ball and Rosicky providing little movement - only Alexis was fluid in their front 4.

Just got in. Appalling service from South West Trains once again - delayed train and no bus service from Eastleigh station, but Saints winning certainly makes things better. Another fine display, and its great to see us actually bothered about the cup. Well done Ronald.
 
Not long home and boy was it worth the trip and late night ! Tremendous performance by the magnificent Saints. They were all very good tonight, young Matt Targett deserves a special mention. Thanks to Arsenal FC for the pricing, which resulted in a near 60,000 crowd watching a L C game in Sept. Both teams put on performance to make it a special night, especially for us.
 
Was good to see the new boys- particularly Pelle & Tadic- leave everything on the pitch for an early round cup tie on a Tues night. Whether playing for the club or for Koeman, the commitment could not be faulted. Gardos seemed to slip nicely into the back four too. Lots of positives
 
Gardos was excellent. It's good to have genuine competition at CB. IMO, all four CB's have been pretty good this season.
