I am not that confident about the title. Probably because of the CF position and our over-reliance on Arteta. If we showed a bit more ambition and strengthen those two positions, then I believe we could have been in the title race.

If we can strengthen in January (unlikely, but if we're in a position to challenge it may happen), then we have a shot. We could get someone like Llorente in on the cheap, and maybe Wilshere will have returned by then to provide depth for Arteta.

Not really a shock, but still just highlights his qualities.

That's a good stat. I'm just surprised there were no other clubs really interested in him as well especially considering his price. He's got that thing about him where he can play the game at any pace and has eyes in the back of his head.

Breaking bad is quality stuff too!

Thanks for the positive comments and energy, but we won't win the league.

Hang on, actually we might, with the players we've got to return from injury (Wilshere, Diaby, Sagna, Rosicky), we can only get stronger.

Wow, who would have thought it, we sell Van persie, and somehow end up better, and realistic title contenders. I didn't see it coming.
Yeah, you've just got to keep it going. You normally capitulate in the last 3 or 4 weeks of the season. If you can just keep going and get important wins here and there then you can win the league.

There is no doubt, you play the best football in this league so far this season.

TV was monster in defence, he kept Lambert in his pocket :(.

Southampton fan here, i'm not hugely convinced that thrashing us is a guarantee of a title win. Not taking anything away from Wenger, Arsenal played very well but I think saints just started badly and lost all confidence after the second own goal went in. It's clear that Saints are not a strong team, particularly in defence. You have made some good signings but losing RVP and Song I don't think will do you too many favours in the long run. Still think you are a top 4 side just think the title might be a little ambitious at this point just because of a few positive results.

Anyone watching the Spuds game ?

Reading are ****ing awful <doh>

If reading get one back, we may see AVB on his potty . . .

I hope reading fans enjoy there prem season as they are nailed on for relegation if you ask me

I would agree with you there. I can't see us challenging for the title this season although I'm hopeful of top 3-4 and a cup.
I wouldn't be too worried if I were a Saints fan, yet. You have more quality in the side than people think despite having a poor start the season and I think it will get better.
And please take points off Sp*rs when you play them in a few weeks time.
