I never really felt like we were gonna win the league in either 01/02 or 02/03, but it was great to have a sniff of it. Injuries really ****ed us at the end of one of them. It was mad that we were even up there with that defence really. You can't win leagues with the likes of O'Brien, Bramble, Griffin etc. Dabizas was average aswell but popped up with quite a few goals. The only really good player in defence those two seasons was Woodgate and he was always injured. Bernard was good going forward but couldn't defend. Hughes was quite solid.
I knew along time ago that Newcastle would never win anything and while the takeover made me believe again temporarily I've now realised all it means is more painful experiences and more nearlys basically. I'll be proved right over the next decade and then the club will change hands or something.
It's annoying that the likes of Birmingham, Wigan, Swansea have won domestic cups quite recently and we still can't. Oh well your team is your team, it will feel amazing if we ever do.
Exactly mate this club and this area is cursed and nothing good is going to ever happen here either. We'll get kicked in the teeth more and more as usual..... we've taken the bait again.
Well we never would have won anything though, we do have 4 leagues and 6 FA Cups, Fairs Cup, we are still about the 8th/9th most successful club in England, but it's been rather grim since 1969.
I know , but that won't happen again because it's a closed shop competition. The club cannot compete with the big 6 it's not allowed to.
The rules are being changed all the while and Leicester was an anomaly. If your neighbours win the lottery it doesn't make it likely you'll win. People are always holding onto microscopic hopes in life and with their football teams, but success in football is for the few and now it's a completely closed shop.
We should be positive we are owned by the best owners we could have dreamed of. We maybe won’t win **** all. Won’t win the league. Cups. But damn they will try to and that’s what it is all about. Let’s just enjoy this next journey. Regardless of fruit.
I don’t think it’s a case of trying to prove himself right. I think he is happy to include a player for his leadership rather than technical qualities and that’s what he gets with Burn and Trippier.
Don’t think he would be ever interested. Says that he is in football to work with players and improve them. Absolutely what you can’t do as England Manager.
Big mistake. You need to remember who you’re talking with. Facts and logic and Chaos don’t shake hands, mate.
Well we'll have to disagree mate because we can all see the problem. His leadership isn't stopping anything. Burn is a poor left back and Howe is doing a Southgate.
It would appear that Howe is so determined to keep Dan Burn in the side that he's going to ditch his 4-3-3 and go 3 5 2. Finally Howe is trying to doing something at least, but nevertheless he's not going to just do the obvious and make himself look daft at this stage.
