Would be interesting if Harry would take the year, like you say he has one more year but to expect a 2 year contact when you basically showed you will jump when England come calling is a bit much even for Harry to argue. It will all happen again once Roy slips up like every england manager less than a year down the line. If Spurs kept even a bit of form into the last leg of the league run in we would have had 3rd and CL this season & 2 year contract wouldn't have been an issue for Levy. My only real issue with holding out is that Levy would less likely to buying quality Harry wants because the new manager might not like them. This is the reason we only did frees / loans in Jan. Levy wasn't going to risk spending big if Harry left because Jail or England (2 of the same really, in both you get buggered) which at the time was the 2 issues hanging over Spurs, and meant we could have had more deadwood to shift at some point. Saying this, I am glad to see Levy is out there trying to get players and not leaving it to the final day again.
it does indeed...however i dont think he is world class...this is in context with the article which says that AVB's reputation is in tatters...and i said it is not just like RDM hasnt become world class with his success this season..i suppose what im trying to say is that you cant judge failures of managers by their times at Chelsea.
Well you can, in the respect that it showed a complete lack of understanding and underestimation, of how difficult games are against mid/lower table sides in the PL.
yet we say things like 'he might need a season to adapt, settle' etc etc when we talk about players we sign..especially big money players in order to soften the blow incase they hit the floor with their arses instead of running when they join us. id say it is the same for a manager.
True Dona, but I'm putting him in the same bag as Ramos, clueless about other PL opposition, seemed to dismiss them as lesser games that you put anyone out in, and you'd still win.
I knew AVB had lost it when I saw him giving a post match interview after the game against everton when he said "its fantastic to see darren gibson back playing".......ffs why on earth would the chelsea manager under pressure be bigging up darren gibson? the guy had lost the plot!
I don't think he ever had the plot. He was assistant to Jose and liked to think that he could emulate the great man by stealing his character and bravado.....big failure. We do not want him at the lane.
I feel the same Thor, he piggy-backed a ride on Mourinho's name, won a cup with the team Mourinho put together and takes credit for winning. Horribly exposed at Chelsea and will not be taken seriously by senior pro's till he has a wealth of experience. Having not played at any level doesn't help his cause either, there are odd exceptions to this I know, but he isn't one of them imo.
On the other hand he now has enough money to indulge his first love! Collecting plastic Conquistadors and building his dream road bridge from Portugal to South America.
