Cor blimey this is almost as dramatic as waiting for old boy Dermot to read out the results on X-Factor: The Result.

1961 Grand National - won by Nicolaus Silver
1992 Derby - 3rd place Silver Wisp
1996 Derby - can't find a bloody Silver connection <grr> is Shaamit arabic for silver by any chance? Or do you mean 1997 where Silver Patriarch was 2nd?
2007 Grand National - won by Silver Birch

OddDog...sorry a typo in one of my years .. but you are spot-on for another point and you are top of the league still !!

As I stated I was there for that 1997 Derby and lost a small fortune on Entrepreneur and was lucky to retrive it in the next race.

Apologies to all for not checking what I had typed there !

ODDDOG 2

Next question shortly !

Got to love, X-Factor, Arky. Are you on any of the contestants ‘Tote Place’???

Never really been into ‘Big Brother’. My mole in the media though tells me that the ‘I’m in the Jungles’ programme returns this Sunday. Apparently though how you fare on this show is all in the edit and if you have a current ITV show airing then you will always get a much more positive edit than those without. Something to consider if wagering ‘Tote Place’ in the Jungles, methinks.

Oh, now we are changing the question to suit Oddys answers. Rather poor show is that, I had been spending hours with my arabic translator working out the answer and you have to change the years. In the way the education boards do it, it is 100% all round for those who attempted an answer. I thought the only dead thing on this thread was Dodo, the mare I mentioned. I guess not.

SBC..I never watch any talent shows or virtual tv tosh...even though I did actually meet Ant and Dec at the City Barge Pub in Kew,West London and they suggested I should go for Britains Got Talent with my stand-up comedy routine...I only perform locally and at friends functions...as I don't believe in double standards !

NB...1996 instead of 1997 was a genuine typo so no need for your "attempt" at sarcasm and OddDog was spot-on with his answer which even you could have found from Wikipedia as the clue was in the word "results"....two horses with Silver in their name won the Grand National and two were placed in the Derby !

I will be more thorough in future !

Arky, you should deffo apply to go on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. You in front of Sir Simon Cowell would make for one of the best TV highlights of the modern age!

I really can't believe such tosh as BGT or the X Factor gets mentioned here when there are is an interesting quiz question requiring an answer...come on chaps....play the game....seriously !
