genuine question for you with no WUM (well I'll try anyway)

Are any of you worried in the slightest that if you have a good 2 seaons in the Prem, that you might lose Pearson to a bigger club or even the England set up?
Looking around the leagues there arent many youngish up-coming English managers that have achieved what NP has, and our national team is a complete joke. Its in need of a complete revamp and forgetting the idiots at the FA, how many of you would give NP the job on a long contract.
I know someone (Andy i think) once said he was previously part of the England set up but I dont know how or why he left?

Anyway, 2 good seasons and he'll be a wanted man by a top 6 club,....whilst the rest of us will be strugling in the NPC again :grin: -(sorry)

What do you reckon?
 
It's a good question Queeny , but big Nige is a LONG way off managing a top 6 side
Some fans question his tactical nous, some used to question (and may still do) his ability to man manage big name players. This season is going to be a huge test for players and the management team
That said, 2 seasons is a hell of a long time in football and who knows if we have done ridiculously well, there may be some top half teams come sniffing in Nigel's direction.
As for the national team..... Liam Moore will get there before Pearson that's for sure.
 
Fair enough Miami. going on your start (& last season performance) you'd have o think that there are prob some who will be keeping a close eye on him

the big names could be a problem but he doesnt look like he could get walked over. Should be intresting to watch <ok>

now...back to WUMMING...:grin:
 
It would have to be an exceptional two years, which we all hope we have. If City do continue to improve then its a fair shout to say he may well be offered a position of some sort.
 
Same thing happened when MON left us to go to Celtic - the days have gone where a manager creates a legacy.
 
Pearson is well known for not having time for players with an ego which I think may keep him from the top clubs as their whole squads have Beckford size egos. As for England, he's been there and done that. Anyway the sooner our country quits international football the better as we're becoming an embarrassment
 
I think it's easy to suggest that these big name players have egos.

It's the ones who think they're better than they are that are difficult to manage. The players at the top don't get there without a serious mindset.

Even players like Mario Balotelli have been said to be spot on in training. It's a common media misconception.

Sorry, is getting wound up in training a bad thing?


Much better than sitting around doing nothing. I think it's good that they get worked up and take it seriously. Listen to the Liverpool players, they've been very surprised and impressed with his attitude and the Man City players don't have anything bad to say about him.

Getting wound up every so often no. Physically fighting with your team mates and MANAGER. Yes, he is nothing but a problem at times

If you turn up and work doing that you would be sacked after 5 minutes

Yes, of course you would. But what a daft comparison. Unless you work as a professional contact sportsman.

Half of those photos aren't even of him fighting. The only real one is Mario vs Mancini, which we all know is personal.

There's been reports of Knockaert punching De Laet in training this week. As long as it's all left on the training pitch, it's fine in my eyes.


Too much is made of his attitude to football but the fact is, if he wasn't determined then he wouldn't have made it even half the way he has in the game.

Knockaert punching De Laet rumours are laughable. So idiot has made it up on twitter and it spreads

Knockaert was dropped after a poor performance and players signing and returning from injury cost him his place on the bench. No other reason

Too many knob heads ruin the team sprit. Its clear to see how close our team is now, everyone playing for each other and no one going for personal glory over the team

Compare that to a few years ago with the likes of Matt Mills, Jermaine Beckford, Neil Danns, Sean St. Ledger etc.

Like I said, I think that comes down to those players thinking they're better than they are.

Whereas the top players in football know how good they are and expect the same from their colleagues.

I don't think the top players look down on each other, I think they have immense respect. Whereas the likes of which you've just mentioned lacked that.
