I thought the rugby revival happened in the late 70s. By 1980 we had that all Hull final.

As for the speedway getting 12,000+ "regularly" : prove it.

Disprove it.

Hull FC had 2 crowds of less than 1,000 in the mid 1970s. 10,000 of who attended regularly in 1978/1979 when Arthur Bunting lead them up unbeaten.

Pretty sure the revival at FC started when they reached the final of the john player No6 final in 1976 and almost every ****er at school became an FC fan,i'd never even heard of them until then.

I was a goer and then boycotted for two seasons....but Saturday afternoons were losing their purpose, and we all missed meeting up for a pint......so am now back as a goer and a loud protester from within enemy lines.
