Because piskie typed it and I responded. He only typed it as a response to what I had said tbf. But again follow he conversation

Yeah I've read back through it, but I'm asking why you're trying to compare it to the situation we're discussing because it's not true.

I know people who adopt, they're both white and have had Asian kids with them before.

It's why I'm curious about all this bollocks about prospective foster parents being refused due to their ethnicity when I've seen one incidence of it so hardly widespread.

Back to the beginning

Are you seriously suggesting their environment won't have any effect on their life, outlook, even enjoyment or friendships if they live in a crappy homophobic area or school?

We're talking about the effect on the child of gay parents right ?

A crappy homophobic environment, area or school is a different issue altogether.

Learn on the job imo.

You can prepare yourself as much as like for it but once that day comes your going on instinct mainly <ok>

It's why some people ain't cut out for it too.
In most cases parenting is learnt from parents (good or bad). Most people with new baby's take the good parts of their own upbringing and try to add to it whilst dropping the bad parts. Sadly this is not all cases though.

It effects the child though, which was the starting point. I would suggest , although I used the word crappy, that it would be most schools

Having gay parents will effect a child in amny ways. It may make them more balanced (as mentioned earlier) or they could rebel as also discussed and it could cause issues of depression etc if the bullying etc gets to them

I said that in most cases adoption agencies will seek to match a child with at least one parent of similar ethnicity. But that parents are never ruled out (as far as I know) from adopting a child of different ethnicity.

I'll take it up with you tomorrow if it's still going/relevant

You and liebhs are morphing into one <laugh>

Fyi social services had.issues with different ethnicity children being adopted. Leaving them at the back of the queue as black and asian parents weren't coming forward

White parents were not the issue, it was so ial services and there thought process. I believe a .inister bought it up in parliament

Anyhow. Must sleep

I am going to lower the tone of the thread a little bit here (but only for one post and to gauge reaction).

Does anyone think about the implications of two men wanting a little boy to adopt or two women wanting a little girl, could there be potential for peado behaviour (no slight on the gay community as I think they are probably under represented in this area).
I just think with one parent of each sex any wrong doing by one would be picked up by the other far quicker.

No different though to many other issues that may affect a child based on their parents. Whatever the background of the parents, I would still argue that the most important thing is for the child to have a loving, stable and secure family life.

What makes you say that?

Heterosexual couples to be nonces together is far from unusual I believe.

Why would there be ?
