This made me laugh...when i was 15 id left school and got a job <laugh>

Albeit i never realised i couldn't work full-time until my 16th birthday.

I was getting served in pubs at 15 and got to know the landlords in case the old bill turned up. Got raided a few times but you learnt how to disappear quickly.

Cigs were easy, had vending machines in them days.

And here i am today surrounded by health freaks that legally have a big mac for breakfast.

Getting up at 4am to do a milk round before school

Do you think a lot off youngsters are actually encouraged not to go out, and stay safe indoors, as everyone outside is either a Peado, rapist or murderer (as the media would have us believe).
To a degree yes. Round my way it's more the shootings and stabbings - and QPR fans <whistle>

This is the point.Modern day parents are terrified of crime, which affects there judgement.Had a knife pulled on me
when i was 15.You never forget it.

Agree with Bluey...yeah it might be 2018 but when I last checked the order of things was as it was from the beginning of time.

Human beings think they can change the order of things and then call it evolving or advancing or it's the 21st century guise...girls are born with cocks and boys are born with the natural urge to wear frocks...not!

Like I said....if you've got young kids keep an eye on the gender neautral push that is taking place in schools. Last week the teacher said to my niece that she is 'not open minded' because she(my niece) didn't agree with gender neautral clothes because she said 'she's a female and wants to wear female clothes and go into womens shops'

My boy won't be wearing no frock or growing up thinking he's just got a big clit it's not really a dick

People can do what they want but dont tell my son he should be accepting 'neautral' whatever...he's a boy and he will become a man and he will love pussy and right now he plays with plastic guns and Batman toys...I won't be buying him a doll.

Crime is no different now to what it was decades ago. It just gets reported now via the introduction of social media.

If we are even suggesting that crime is worse now, then it defeats the whole object of a 24 hour surveillance nation, the most surveillanced in the world.

Yeah we can rightly argue less coppers on the beat and imported crime, but you had as much risk of being knifed in my younger day as you do today. Maybe it's because im older that i don't see the risks as much has a younger person might.

Exactly. This is where people get confused between the difference of discrimination and freedom of belief and opinion.

It's not wrong to disagree with it, it's only wrong to discriminate against it.

However, we could argue you are forcing him to be a boy to satisfy your own gender insecurities <whistle>

No seriously I'm only forcing him to be a boy because he's actually...and this is the tricky bit...a boy.

Times have changed.

In the London I grew up in if you ran into a bad crowd while you were out, the worst that would happen is you’d get a bit of a kicking. Nowadays they’ll kill you and think nothing of it.

It’s all guns and knives now.

How it got to that stage, I don’t know. But the boundary lines have all been removed nowadays.

Which brings us full circle to the op. But are parents over reacting these days?

And i've no doubt he will grow up to be lovely lad with a proud dad.

But just for the sake of debate, is giving a boy a toy gun...although fun...really what we want to educate our kids as fun, which learn from a very early age in the development of their personality.

By giving the lad a toy gun is that not another stereotypical reaction of human parenting.

Maybe if boys were more in touch with their feminine side, there would be less wars and hideous crimes in the world, or are we always to be the caveman species?

Not having a go btw, just opening up debate.

Very good point. I look at things as a balance though. Most stabbings etc in London are down to gangs, so my outlook is, don't join a gang. For every kid that gets shot or stabbed, there are thousands who don't.

Fair shout but males were designed as the stronger macho gender. As I said before, it's just the way it is.

The stronger gender maybe but why 'macho' which defines aggression?

Surely as the world's supposedly superior intelligent species we are able to evolve beyond aggression.

Yeah I understand the debate for debates sake and yeah you could argue it's a stereotypical reaction giving him a gun. He's also got a Bob the Builder tool kit and a plastic kitchen he cooks me plastic breakfasts in. However I think giving him a doll is only done nowadays in order to emphasise the Gender Neautral issue.

I don't think our genders need challenging but humans are obsessed with challenging everything...that comes with massive side affects. Humans are desperate to 'evolve' but you can't start making things up in order to achieve it.

Let's give them a doll instead eh?

Get them in touch with their feminine side..
