Eric Chappell, writer of Rising Damp and Home to Roost, age 88 RIP.
Never saw Home to Roost but Rising Damp was brilliant I thought,.

Hi hope you don’t mind this in this thread . Just watched the Beside Bowie - Mick Ronson Story doc. Wasn’t really into Bowie but that documentary was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time . He really was a brilliant underrated and under paid bloke. I’ll seek his music out . I played footie with a kid from Longhill who did some roadying for The Rats

Thanks for mentioning it. I did a search on Sky and have just downloaded it.
My mam worked at Co-op when Mick Ronson did.
He used to get home late after travelling back from gigs and when he had a break he'd sit down and fall asleep.

Cheers got the feeling Bowie ultimately didn’t think him sophisticated enough for re invention . Didn’t realise how good an arranger he was plus the Jack &Diane was a surprise!
 
Actor Dennis Waterman, known for his roles in TV shows including Minder, The Sweeney and New Tricks, has died, his family have said. He was 74.

A statement said: "We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved Dennis passed away very peacefully at his home in Spain."

He died on Sunday afternoon with wife Pam at his side, they said.

"The family kindly ask that our privacy is respected at this very difficult time," they added.
