There's a clear theme developing since Ole's been here, and for all the changes made, there's actually been no change.

In the same fixture last season when Ole was in charge, we were overun by a Norwich side that pulverised us but just couldn't score - this time they went in 4 times. It was like deja vu that second half without the lucky result of last year at the end of it.

We haven't developed since then and it's no good saying Ole needs time to get his methods across. He is trying to impose a Man U template on the club with a fraction of the player ability that they possesssed when he was there. It might have worked with an amount of success in his home country with Molde playing in a League One standard national league, but this is the hard nosed Championship.

I've been a supporter of his since he arrived in the hope that he could change direction and bring success. He's changed direction alright, but it's all going the wrong way. Calls for Pulis have been ridiculed on here in the past, but if not him, someone with a more realistic approach to the task in hand is the only way to get this club back up.
 
Swansea fan in peace. I notice people are talking about a bad squad and it needing changes - but as the transfers were coming in I was thinking "we'll that's them back up then." Especially seeing jones started well. Could it just be the case that the lack of consistency in selection is causing the problem? With the exception of QPR, you can't really look at the squads of the promoted clubs and think that they're that much better.

Only transfer deal I can't understand is Hudson: a leader, a tough bar steward, and a guy who knows what it takes to win the league. Really ole should have developed an alliance with him. If ole was self-aware he could have used Hudson as the 'bad cop'. Every club needs a club man and a guy who was willing to do some of the nastier stuff (that's why we clung onto Monk and Tate, as players, longer than we should have).

What I mean by all of this is - if the right guy comes in, the players are there, if used correctly, to charge back up the league. Probably outsiders would see this, making it attractive to an able manager.
 
Tough loss , not as bad a collapse as ( ithink ) Preston when they got 4 goals in the 2nd half to get a point . Like Goodland , I thought your team looked set for success at first whistle of the season . Still early though.

If Ole is trying to emulate Man Utd, he going about it the right way at the moment. I was all for giving him a chance, but he has had that chance and failed.

I don't think there is too much wrong with the players he has brought in, but I do not think he is using them to the best of their ability, or in the right formation, and he is does not seem able to change the playing style to suit the game when things are going wrong. We were 2-0 up at half time, when Norwich came back out for the second half they changed their formation, and Ole left City as they were and his substitute decisions did not help matters.

He has to go, but will Tan realise that?
 
You all seem to be overlooking the obvious here. Ole was Tan and Dalman's choice of manager, even though Pullis was available previously. Do they have the courage to admit they made a mistake? I think not.
 
Nobody's overlooking anything. It's what we think should happen that's being spoken about - not necessarily what will happen.

Having the courage to admit a mistake isn't exclusive to Tan and Dalman. It hasn't exactly featured prominently in Ole's vocabulary yet either has it?
 
I think we have a very good squad in this league just the wrong manager. we certainly wouldn't of conceded 4 if say for example pulis was in charge. we need someone like him if not him ASAP- his meddling with selection is clearly having an effect on the players- they don't seem to know who supposed to be doing what most of the time.

this may sound crazy but if we were not get pulis then in an ideal situation i would love to give slaven bilic a tap up. not sure what his contracts are in turkey or his wage but the guy sets his teams up hard to beat and they play good football. i still cant believe west ham have never really approached him. would he be tempted with good backing from the board and possible premier league football management next season? Anyway probably a bit of long shot but hey one has to dream!:wink
 
I bet Oles not far off that sort of money. Might even be on more.

I'd be happy to see Bilic in charge. Always liked the fearless way his teams played.

Agree 100% with Hilts about the fitness. It's a disgrace we get out worked by every team we play. How simple is just being fit?!??

Fabio was a million times better than Declan imo.. As soon as Declan came on the whole game changed.. Ole's tactics were RIDICULOUS! Macheda was an absolute donkey.. How he wasn't subbed is beyond me (and clearly Ole).

Awful game, awful tactics.. PROVE US WRONG OLE!
 
The silence from the Tan camp is deafening.

36 games to go, that's 108 points on offer; City are only 6 off top spot.

BUT City are a million miles away from a promotion team.

How long will Tan give the clueless troll?

How long before it is too late?
 
Ole did the very same thing again that we said we really didn't want to see. Why does he play two "up top" players in Kenwynne and Macheda this time (it was Le Fondre against Blackburn) and expected one of them to play wide?

It looks like the man is an inveterate fiddler with this squad to the extent that he's spoiling the team structure just to prove himself right in constantly playing two strikers just because he's bought the buggers.

Most of us have been screaming for a 5 man midfield with two holding players to get a grip on the game, and three others further forward to support one up top.

Macheda was out on his feet and rubbish in the second half through being asked to play outside his normal remit. Then what does he do when that was blatantly obvious to all of us? He leaves him out there and takes Pilkington off.

FFS, if that wasn't bad enough, when they'd pulled back to 2-2 he puts Adeyemi on (decent enough but hardly a game changer) when the side was crying out for some inventiveness from someone like Daehli. We needed to cause them some problems not just try to contain them. Maynard for Jones was another bizarre substitution.

We are a side waiting for a solution. A selection of talented individuals who have yet to be given a positive identity as a team by Ole.

He needs to get it together with the right combo from the players he has available PDQ. Fitting players into a system that doesn't suit their talents is costing us big time.
 
We need a out field captain, I've never been a fan of a goalkeeper as captain. Problem is there is no one good enough who would be 1st choice in the team.

People like, Gabbidon, Connolly, Turner, Cala or even Ralls.

That was Peterborough. Preston put 6 past us under the managerial genius that was Dave Jones.

We havent played attractive free flowing football since when ? oh yes, that would have been when Jones was at the helm on a shoestring budget. Personally i used to enjoy watching Burke, Chopra and Bothroyd terrorising defences in this league. Mackay was a bore who bored us into the PL and now Ole who has an attacking philosophy can set up a team to even keep possession longer than any opposition. If OLE gets the chop then i would not be surprised to DJ return. I for one wouldnt see this as a step backwards either.
