He can score goals if his finishing was better, his crossing is good aswell, he needs a confidence boost
He is a confidence player - on his day he is very good but the second his head goes down he loses everything. Wouldn't mind having him here as NP seems to get the best out of him - but not for the £5M+ Allam was after when we offered around £1M last year - which would be a much fairer price but won't happen so no point in thinking about it.
YESSSSSSS. unknown? Check. young? Check. Have to youtube him to see anything? Check. You all know how i love this kind of signing!!!!!
Would prefer Stewart to Dyer, cut-inside winger Dyer is quick and can latch onto good through balls (although hes not all that good at 1on1 and tends just to hit and hope), but as a line running winger, his crossing isnt good enough, and thats if he actually makes enough space to cross without losing the ball.
Apart from age what does Stewart have over Dyer? Ok Stewart can do a few step overs but apart from that is doesnt offer anything that Dyer doesnt. Dyer scores more goals and sets more up so overall i would take Dyer. In a few years time i suspect Stewart will have matured a bit and become a better winger then Dyer but at the minute Dyer is a better player
Dyer is very good under the right guidance. Id glad he is playing for us rather than against us. Even if he doesnt start, there is not many other players in the league who i would rather bring onto the wing to change a game.
Hoping to speak to French football journalist Anthony Clément tomorrow to find out more about new #LCFC signing Anthony Knockaert. jason bourne has just twittered...
‏@FourthOfficial_ French winger Anthony Knockaert completed a medical with Leicester today and expected to finalise a deal with the club tomorrow
Would agree with that. Stewart was great for the first 3\4 games after coming back from his injury. Then once Pearson was rumored to be bidding for him, his head turned. In all fairness, Stewart is full of skills and flair, with no end product. Dyer is a much better player IMO. Stewart doesn't cross, I don't think I've ever seen him cross. He cuts inside and shoots, attempts to take the opponent on with like a million step overs or just tries a stupid pass and loses the ball. If Pearson made another bid for him this Summer, I wouldn't be heartbroken if he left.
Stewart rubbished the reports that his head was turned, and I believe him. His confidence is just so low and he has backed out of every 50/50 since his injury. He needs to score a goal I think. He's been ****e for a while now, but he's not a poor player. If we can get back to his previous form he's far better than Dyer (and pretty much any other winger in this league). When he takes a man on he is dangerous, the problem is he's not doing it enough. Defenders hate a quick, tricky winger like Stewart. He just needs to start being more unpredictable like he used to be. When we've only got 2 wingers, I'd be pretty worried if we flogged one of them. We should keep Stewart, just bring in competition for him so he can be dropped when he's playing crap, unlike last season, where he was playing poorly but we couldn't drop him as there wasn't really anyone to replace him.
Tbh I was at Hull away in November, and he absolutely terrorised our defence- get him back up to that standard and he'll be an excellent player. However, I'm happy with a young, unknown winger, who has a decent goalscoring record, which is always positive regardless of the level it came from, and glad the position is finally a bit more assured.
Ditto ......................................................... (and no Charlie - we have not signed an unknown Italian)
I see that BBC are reporting that the Knockoneaht deal is likely to be finalised today (which knowing the BBC means it was completed 3 weeks ago). He'll be your 6th signing of the summer. Do you reckon that's you done now, or is NP still looking to strengthen?
Can't see us bringing in another wide player myself ... We now have Knockaert, Marshall, Dyer as naturals plus Gallagher, Schlupp and Waggy who can all play there -and Kochesky does get down his wing and from what I hear of De Laet his is very quick and likes to get down the wing too,. so planty of cover / options from wide. Central defence might now be a bit of an issue if Sean St ledger has a long term injury ... from a cover perspective, as I think that Morgan and Whitbread will be the first choice pairing there (unless we do actually get Chester - and no wind-up intended - but he is obviously a player that our manager rates highly) Part of me, and maybe just a nostalgic part, wonders whether NP might just try and get Emile Heskey on a 'pay-as-you-play' deal - given our investment in wide men the prospect of good delivery to the big man as an attacking option would be very exciting - and no, i don't believe the signing of Futacs necessarily rules that out - anybody signing Heskey would be sensible to have ready made cover given that he does suffer injuries. The keeper position is interesting - the recent trialist has gone elsewhere and Kaspar is a long way clear of any real internal competition right now - and I'm not sure that is healthy ... would love to sign the kid playing for the GB squad but there must be many a premiership club thinking the same!
Id so prefere Heskey to Futacs Dont slate me as the board is all about oppinions and i just dont rate Futacs - hope you be proven wrong though. A RB would come in - a loan might be better though. I think a loan CB might be what he goes for given SSL's injury. I imagine someone like Fyers (LB or CB?) or Herd from villa. Though knowing nige it will be an unknown is Gabbidon still available? Would do worse.
