Why not pay a club employee to fly out to Dresden to investigate what they are doing right with their fanbase?

(Suggest East Midlands to Berlin then train it to Dresden)

But they let flares off, jump up and down instead of remaining seated and make a lot of noise, spoiling the match day experience of those who have paid for a seat and expect to watch the match as if in a theatre. Don’t want that sort of behaviour from our fans, surely?

Im not convinced the consolidatory stuff is for the right reasons, but I guess if it generates some positivity, encourages crowds and hopefully a new owner, then it can only be a good thing. I guess us cynics will soon become the minority, but if it better For the future of the club, then so be it. The response to the Allam out chant will be interesting, especially if they are attending.
Apparently the match price changes they refer to is to to make all areas similar. There is a huge disparity between East and South stands (can't recall the figures), so it does seem sensible (I'm sure south standers will disagree). As the east stand is the only stand anywhere near full, it doesn't seem the greatest business decision, but who are we to questions his business acumen? ( whoops stop it! Old habits die hard)

I’ve said this a few times and it’s a great idea. You would need stewards though for health and safety no doubt. The club will make money back on food, drinks, merchandise, etc. Plus they could always give the schools the kids tickets for free and do an offer for their parents to buy tickets (through the respective schools) to go with them at a reduced rate.

Our school were involved with a Hull FC game last season where 20 or so of our kids got to go on the pitch pre-match and throw a few balls around with the mascot and then watch the game - all for free (plus two teacher tickets to accompany). Parents then bought tickets at £5 to go too through the school. It’s seats that otherwise wouldn’t have sold.

All very touching and does seem like he is trying....but....if we get promoted will he then tell us to die when we like again..he won't need the money any more.

Some good things being done, but only because low crowds are now costing them.

So cynical marketing opportunities don’t make me think any better of the owners, but if they encourage more kids and other fans then that’s still a good thing so I hope they carry on...but I will carry on hoping they sell up and **** off regardless.

I will reserve judgement on the new pricing until I see it.

Yes let's wait and see re new pricing
In the meantime I and mine will be taking advantage of cheap tickets again
Can't afford every game but pick and choose when we go and we will choose this one

Off the back of the open letter, there’s a bit of a spat on Twitter between our favourite resident stand rep and one of our disabled supporters (who has since protected their tweets).

Seems it’s not just the club that doesn’t listen - some of the reps don’t too.

To give an idea of the protected tweets, the fan has said they have tried every possible avenue to get an answer about reinstating disabled concessions and the club have yet to get them an answer. The rep repeats to email Ann Holland which the fan has tried several times. Bit of back and forth.

A pretty naive and pompous way of dealing with the situation really.

Agree its tiny steps being made in the correct direction ... but let's get real ... for the first time in a long long while they are not being supported by parachute money ... this may or may not have suddenly brought home that they DO need the supporters to financially support the club through the turnstiles and through the club shop. Shame it couldnt have been done sooner but positive signs, there may be a wind of change blowing through their minds, and judging by the majority of responses is being well received. However remember .. a leopard never changes its spots !

Maybe they just thought they could take on the fan base and beat them into submission, however what I don't think they realised is that many of that fan base would get fed up with it all and simply just walk away, maybe they expected a few but not the amount that did. Even two excellent managers just walked away. Now hopefully they realise how important that fan base is for a football club and how it has hardened the ones what are left to their antics. Maybe it is the money, maybe it's the old man worried he s leaving his son with all this hate rid towards him, it could even be a different tactic to sell the club , who knows but hopefully they will now continue to try to have a much better relationship with the supporters and this week has been brilliant, Yes they have a lot of convincing to do, some won't forgive, some will but one things for sure it's certainty lifted many on here. Yes a lot of hopefully's and mayor's only time will tell.

Fairly sure they aren't allowed to do it. Think I remember seeing that there is a limit to the number of half-priced ticket games you can offer during a season.

I welcome what the club is now finally trying to do concerning the matchday experience, and trying to encourage the kids to engage with the club, this should have been done years ago, but I guess better late than never.

However, for me, it is like your wife leaves you for someone else then after a period of time you agree to take her back, for the sake of the kids (in our case the sake of the team), but the relationship can never be the same again.

Therefore, I can never forgive the Allam's for the way they have treated the supporters, and we should never forget they are doing this purely for financial reasons, but I am prepared to at least give them some credit finally accepting that they were wrong.

P.S. Have they missed a trick by only giving half-price tickets to those that went to the Derby game, should they have just left it open to whoever buys a ticket?

Presumably that gets around having to give West Brom fans half price tickets as well
