current state.

there's a huge hgue amount of work to do to get this even approaching ready in the next 6 weeks.

i sincerely doubt its possible but could be wrong.

there's videos of the insides that show it absolutely nowhere near fitted out.

I reckon this delays really will come to pass at this point.

hell the pitch is meant to need laying and 6 weeks to be perfect and it's not even uncovered yet.

probably. there's absolutely nothing down there so far so I'd presume someone will want to run buses out of there late and out of anfield late as well if they have any sense.

the thing is we are seeing the club build a massive facility and big fan zone so I'm sure they want to exploit it as much as humanly possible.

but...

it will kill every chipper and boozer in the area potentially.
its more to do with getting the away fans out safely .

this is a much better video of status.

mr drone is a lovely lad but he is caught up in his head in competition with all the other droners for subscriptions.

someone commented thst another drovers short clips were great 2 weeks ago and his current video copies it and is impossible to se ewhats what.

paul frost is a red fan from local area who just does a lot of different stuff but doesn't feel the need for daily vids. you can see a lot more of the finishing work outside and the state of the pitch today.

it looks like they ran it to the very last day to hand back pitch (Monday morning I expect the old one to be ripped out and new one laid this week) they classing on the main stand side of the front of the lip is still not done!

that says they are behind all on it's own never mind the rest.

there's now an internal video showing the state of play in the stand.

there is absolutely 100% zero chance of the internals being ready for a test event to allow this stand to be used for Bournemouth imo.

it's still a shell in there largely and honestly if I were charged 250 or 500 quid for a hospitality package for that game and ended up with total **** service as the staff have no clue what the kitchens are like etc I'd be a rich pissed off person.

According to sources: All external works to be finished by 1 August, the internal works to be completed for test event on the 5th or 6th of august.

That's extremely tight from today given the state of play and the fact there was hardly any movement on site visible yesterday (sunday)

there are several indications now that rich folk and away fans are being prioritised for the anfield road expansion as it is behind.

it will not be ready in time as expected.

member ticket ballot results are not being shared according to the echo until end of July (ga tickets in upper)

rich folks off site hospitality tickets are sold out so will go in lower stand

away fans are 100% in lower anfield road end.

the section for the home hospitality is not live.

this all strongly hints that the rumours of being a month behind are maybe not so far off the mark.

apparently thr other contractors are blaming steel works taking far too long.

I fail to see why the cladding is not 100% done already (still achingly slow progress on it and blocking seats going in)

the brickwork has been half stopped to put in the extremely roads and paths so the exterior is weeks away from finish.

there's about 25% odd seats in and the lower anfield road end hasn't even been put back together.

there's season in the main that have not even been added.

all round this seems to just be quite poor and a real unwillingness to throw extra bodies at the job.

Yup they have finally dropped an announcement on the website

https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/anfield-road-stand-update

"Buckingham Group, the main contractor of the new Anfield Road Stand, has confirmed that although the existing stand will be open and operational for the Reds’ first home game of the season, the new upper tier will remain closed for the time being. It is anticipated that the additional capacity will be incrementally phased in during the course of future home fixtures."

what this means is that what people have been seeing on various stores and sources is in fact correct.

1. Away fans are moved to lower anfield stand FULLY. So no loss of away fan numbers "par se" as this would have been a massive massive issue for the club. I understand tickets for Bournemouth fans were sold out in 30mins

2. the seats for 3rd part contracted hospitality have been looked after. aka seat sold to third parties partners for hospitality are priorities and have been seen on sale and sold out.

3. Zero GA tickets were up for sale for Bournemouth game in the anfield road end. No member sale tickets either

4. works stopped on anything to do with the outer works upper stand sides and was focused on the roads and surrounds lately. Brick work and cladding has slowed to a crawl. there's literally only 2 or 3 brickies on show. The contractor painting the steels on the under roof supports was doing 3 coast, grey, white, grey. he also stopped on the final coat and has not come back in 2 weeks. Cannot get site access.

5. there's been a clamp down on any videos form the inside of the sand and contractors have been walked off site and fired for filming. the last videos shown were less than 2 weeks ago and showed barely even toilets being put in.

In short they were always at least a month late and the contractor is not putting extra bodies on show to get ready. they will not get the safety events in before the time period so cannot open.

It "sounds" like the new plan is to open the upper tier by sections which suggests to me that the internals have been only done is small sections or will only be completed in small sections. Probably they are severely cost reducing as they are into penalties now.

I'd presume they will complete certain safety event and add in the season tickets first then slowly move to GA sales.

This is not in any way like the main stand. that is the club spinning a line.

no fan was denied their paid for seat in the main stand. They simply didn't complete internals away from the fans areas.

In this case they are miles and miles behind on the fans zones, kitchens, concessions, toilets, seats, cladding, lighting, road works, brickwork etc etc

IMO they should be really apologising and SoS should be absolutely ripping in to them over this. They were behind 6 months ago and people knew it then. No real catch up has been achieved at any point over 6 months and most of the blame is being laid at the feet of the steelworks but very little effort has really gone into parallel pathing other things that could be done.

Summary?

if anyone ever needs an example how how poor fsg are the above should really be screaming at them.

yes there's more space behind those while roller doors at the side but the silum total of can experience being provided to flans is such a let down.

Or just wait until it's finished before passing judgement...
