Still well short of Old Toilet.
Yeah, well.... small minds.
There was an "opportunity" when the main stand started to move the entire stadium some meters and change the pitch length.
However we didn't do that as our solution to zero loss in crowds as it was working (aka no loss in revenue and cheapest build possible) was to retain as is the lower tiers of the main and anfield road end stands.
this has restricted our pitch to 101m long and pinned the stadium against the walton breck road.
FSG would never sustain the bill that spurs ran up for their white elephant build. they around us 120mil and have had us pay that back (though suspended, not forgiven) during covid.
12mil every year goes out to them to pay that back despite them seeing a 10X increase in asset value and enabled them to see 10% of FSG to red bird and already pay every penny and more back to them.
they made us pay for kirkby at 50mil out of our own pocket
They've made us pay the 80mil for anfield road end out of own packet. this is why these two projects ran back to back not concurrently.
It'll never be 75K, the council have left lands derelict around the ground and will do small minded projects eventually. FSG( not LFC) should be buying that hotel site and throwing up a vastly profitable hotel business but they are not arsed.
the Kop expansion will not happen simply cos the are so scared of SoS kicking up a fuss if they dared to by the pub, chippy and church land on the other side of the road. This has a direct knock on as eventually the council will narrow the a road per plan right along the current route and lock the entire kop site in.
but most of all. theres a long term investment possible for rail in the area at a mere 30mil (would pay back over time) and again FSG have zero interest.
the long terms here is the boston based business group is only interested long term in Boston red sox and when john henry is done the company except for red sox is to be liquidated. aka sold.
We are simply an asset accruing value on a shelf to them. Simple as. There's nothing sinister in this, it is what it is. they've done their part as they see it in growing the business and brand to the point it has top 10 revenues globally. they see this as growing the value of the business. not fans in seats or trophies in cabinets.
