The new stand is looking magnificent. I'm thankful every time I see the new developments that we decided to stay at Anfield. (How close we were to actually moving is anyone's guess.)
Slow and steady seems to be the order of the day which has proved to be a very good strategy. As you say FSG is a business run by businessmen. It is not a charity. They are delivering on all their promises. They came in not knowing anything about football but have studied the game and the fans etc and been prepared to learn from their mistakes. It's pointless comparing them to previous owners because the past is just that, it's gone and the current owners had no lessons to learn from previous owners, they came with their own plans and strategies.its very hard to know as G&H seems happy to let the amateurs spend their money on this stanley park fairy tale. 50mil losses on designs alone???
Best things FSG did was purge the morons and hlaf wits out of the club.
thats not to say said half wits were not fans and love the club like ayre etc. but the commercial and CEO types that came in with FSG are if nothing else proper businessmen. (gordan, hogan, hughes, stanway)
in what can only be described as the olden days (almost amateur compared to now) peter Robinson and the like were good but when moores came in he absolutely ruined the club with amateurs and making do.
I still and will always think David Moores ruined LFC not G&H, the rot started when he got control. FSG might be milking everyone but they are proper business and making it work.
I simply cannot see FSG doing a vanity project on the Kop. they won't take 100mil of thier own cash to make fans happy. they will want a return.
30mil on rail link won't come from council. not unless the fans elect councillors on the topic of regeneration and business in the area.
the kop would have to be closed for 12months min to make this happen. they won't take the revenue drop.
The purchases of land won't be facilitated
the re routing of the road will be a MASSIVE bill.
all to get to 66k. 5k extra simply won't make financial sense to FSG to spend 100mil on. 25 year payback.

I'm glad that our specific way of doing things is working. We are the only club getting anywhere near and even out performing the oil dopers. I'm thankful that we didn't go down that route (like Newcastle have also chosen to go) and are challenging in the right way.
Even though it isn't fit for purpose, FFP must surely be seen to being adhered to. I can't remember all the ins and outs of it but don't Newcastle have to be taking in an awful lot more money before they can spend big? If so it will be some time before they can start buying who they like. I'm very disappointed that players will 'sell their souls' , so to speak, by joining in and allowing it to happen. Just say 'no' lads.
Sport is very much a reflection of life itself. Some people (players) have principles and stand by them, others are prepared to negotiate on their principles and some have no principles at all.they have already started to announce fake revenue deals with "saudi based" companies.
on the players, this is the old argument about how much is enough? it seems no amount is ever enough.
milkelson earned 40mil in 2020 form endorsements and what have you. On 2022 for not playing the Saudis are giving him 200mil to be a poster boy.
all these players have been asked what do the think of beheadings and assassinations and any amount of human rights violations and they all shrug and get upset journos ask them. footballers will be no different.

This vid has some nice fly by shots of new pitch, and the overall stadium.
there are some "rumours" about a super kop going about. these are in effect rubbish. just to let you know this.
The vid will show you 3 things.
a) the actual story with the kop side and whats across the road. Its not "that much" and the theory floating about is that two roundabouts could be added to divert the A road thought the block of building there (church, pub) and that the infamous chippy would not be touched etc. (see about the 5minute mark for a nice fly round.
b) you can see the actual kop roof supports and how they do not come close to the main stand roof pillar. (about 5:10mins in) the chins have been wagging that if the same roof as being built for the anfield road was done then the kop could be much wider. in actual fact the steel work round the anfield road end would take up a lot of this space people see. people also ignore the fact that you'd eventually hit the super store the club built.
c) lines of sight. the regulations are pretty clear about this and what you need to do. They are also clear on space per seat and anyone who has been on the kop knows is actually pretty narrow between rows. The fact is to keep the kop as single tier and meet regs we are not going to top the bowl that spurs call the biggest single tier end as they have gone as far back as regs allow for sight lines but also have corners in. Max is likley 17,500 so 5k increase for 70-80mil investment
d) transport. the same old comes up. nothing more can every be done til you hear the council actually invest in rail link. this is non starter unitl this is done.
safe standing with rail seats is meant to be 1:1 though once it has been around a few years wouldn't be surprised to see that being eased .do you think that FSG may consider standing
I am not giving an opinion either way but it would increase the capacity in Kop wouldnt it ?

Anfield capacity.
Kop: 12,850
Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand 11,762
Main stand 20,676
New anfield road end 15,967
People always ask why not do the sir kenny stand like the main?
a) houses must go for space and right to light. at least 3 rows.
b) anfield would lose 11,762 seats to make this happen for a period. Why? cos the lower tier is NOT the same as the main stand in pitch or in space. the lower tier is 6,814 compared to 9300 in the main stand.
c) the current design has the maximum rake and minimum spacing so new regs mean you have to space stuff better.
A new main stand would mean a much deeper and shallower lower tier and the same up in the gods look.
It would be 250mil min for <9,000 extra fans. it would be a 20 year payback at minimum.
People also ask why not fill in the corners?
a) look a the kop roof supports
b) look at the main stand root supports.
c) look at the new anfield road end videos above
Masses of steel that will prevent it, It just isn't in the design.
People ask why is the kop not redone to be as big as the anfield road end.
a) Anfield sits on the walton brek A road and this won't be diverted
b) there's a listed pub right there that can't be touched
c) there's a church across the road.
d) the kop is already very very tight for people to sit in. redevelop and the rows need to be spaced out more.
e) the new stand is 2 tier and the kop is a single tier no posh **** zone.
f) Anyone who's been at the back of the kop knows what its like to watch through a letter box.
the club got away with squaring off a couple of areas at the back to add 250 seats a couple years ago as part of adding required wheel chair access. theres little enough space left to extend more and its already over the footpath.
so 61k is our lot. Peopel need to realise that the train line would need to be invested in next for 25/30mil to bring people to and from games anyway. that also has to be factored in.
Its now over to the council to actually redevelop the area and inject some decent maintenance and care (see link a few posts above.
STEP UP COUNCILLORS!
I thought this was a good summary at the time of reading (and still do) but wouldn't sponsorship help the financial side?
Obviously, wouldn't be called the Sir Kenny Dalglish stand if sponsored though
