If you're sneaking that sort of politics in, I'm going to sneak a sort of religion one through.
On Radio 4 just now, they're reporting that the new £5 note isn't vegetarian, as they use animal fat in the production.
A hindu lass was explaing the problem, and mentioned muslims and jews. The presenter said he'd approached a spokesman for the jewish community, who had said it doesn't bother him at all, because he doesn't tend to eat many £5 notes.
I talked to a homeless man this morning and asked him how he ended up this way.
He said, "Up until last week, I still had it all. I had plenty to eat, my clothes were washed and pressed, I had a roof over my head, I had TV and Internet, and I went to the gym, the pool, and the library.
I was working on my MBA on-line. I had no bills and no debt. I even had full medical and dental coverage."
I felt sorry for him, so I asked, "What happened? Drugs? Alcohol? Divorce?"
"Oh no, nothing like that," he said. "I just got out of prison."
He said, "Up until last week, I still had it all. I had plenty to eat, my clothes were washed and pressed, I had a roof over my head, I had TV and Internet, and I went to the gym, the pool, and the library.

A man is stumbling through the woods, totally drunk, when he comes upon a preacher baptizing people in the river.
He proceeds into the water, subsequently bumping into the preacher. The preacher turns around and is almost overcome by the smell of alcohol, whereupon, he asks the drunk, “Are you ready to find Jesus?”
The drunk shouts, “Yes, I am!”
So the preacher grabs him and dunks him in the water. He pulls him back and asks, “Brother, have you found Jesus?”
The drunk replies, “No, I haven’t found Jesus.”
The preacher, shocked at the answer, dunks him again but for a little longer. He again pulls him out of the water and asks, “Have you found Jesus, brother?”
The drunk answers, “No, I haven’t found Jesus!”
By this time, the preacher is at his wit’s end and dunks the drunk again – but this time holds him down for about 30 seconds, and when he begins kicking his arms and legs about, he pulls him up.
The preacher again asks the drunk, “For the love of God, have you found Jesus?!”
The drunk staggers upright, wipes his eyes, coughs up a bit of water, catches his breath, and says to the preacher, “Are you sure this is where he fell in?”
He proceeds into the water, subsequently bumping into the preacher. The preacher turns around and is almost overcome by the smell of alcohol, whereupon, he asks the drunk, “Are you ready to find Jesus?”

Ok, here's the thing about the Universe.
It's ****ing massive and it's ****ing brilliant.
We haven't got a clue about how insignificant we are in the greater scheme of things. And yet because we are the only creatures who can explore and understand stuff we bring the Universe into existence.
Without the Universe we don't exist.
Without us the Universe is unknowable.
Reality only exists within the conscious mind of a thinking being.
We are that thinking being.
We are simultaneously nothing and everything within the Universe.
I'm in a philosophical mood tonight.
The thing that I have always been unable to get my head rounds is whether there is a limit to where it all ends or whether it just goes on into infinite and never ends.
Maybe Mr Charisma can help.

Well Ern, I think I am more worried that before, the thought that the observable universe is getting larger and we probably will never ever get to catch up with it, seems like your worst nightmare whereby you are trying to get away from your pursuer but cannot run fast enough. I think I will give up thinking about it, as it is all too worrying.
