Touches on what I believe is actually the biggest global concern - continued rapid growth of the population (and the associated consumption). What is it, currently 8 billion, going to reach 11 billion. UK is then just a mirror of the global growth. Yet hardly anyone talks about it. Odd.

Well we've had the pandemic, we're at war Russia and now the bird flu is back. God knows we're trying...

What else is there we can do? Mass suicide?

I haven't got a scooby HOW to do it but what you do is drastically increase the standard of living in the developing world. There is causational inverse correlation between birth rates and standard of living.

Standard of living goes up in a country and the birth rate goes down.

Or do what they did in Logan's Run.....no over 30s would put an end to this board LOL

No simple answer, although this is part of it.
It would be a good start if discussion was at least on the same level as climate change, net zero, etc.
More people = more consumption = more pollution = more environmental damage = more depletion of earth's imited resources, etc.
The prevailing model is founded on never ending growth ( not just GDP but of workforce, consumption, etc). In UK as much as anywhere. It's completely unsustainable and the model, and therefore the narrative, has to change before we're totally ****ed (at UK or global level).

It's the last night tonight Chazz so i'd check for tickets.
Last's 2hours 50 minutes with a 20 minute break. Don't forget to get your ice cream off the trays like the old days.
The production is superb mate.
