Dunno where else to put this, but bloody hell the latest word that is being flogged to death..suddenly "influencers" are everywhere; travel, food, fashion, beauty products, no doubt beer next. Its getting on my tits I must admit.

Totally agree. Sick of seeing young people with no experience of real life on TV programmes like SKY News invited to discuss politics amongst a host of other things, and pontificating as they had great wisdom and insight on the topic, and on the screen is a caption describing them as Influencers. Or even more irritating Vlogger and Influencer.

My late dad was at the Atom Bomb tests in the Pacific in the 50's. He was on Christmas Island and when the bomb went off, he was told to turn his back to avoid the dust storm, no protection, no glasses, nowt.

Are you old enough to have had those practice drills at school where we were shown what to do if the 3 minute warning sounded. Which seemed to be curl up under our desks with our eyes closed.
What we did next after the bomb exploded was never really gone into,

Scientists need help. Any volunteers?

Research suggests that drinking a G&T can speed up your metabolism and there's a wonderful piece of news.
According to a new study from the University of Sigulda in Latvia, it seems gin might actually speed up your metabolism and help your body burn calories more efficiently.

To conduct their research, the Latvian scientists gave two groups of mice the equivalent of one shot of gin or water and then measured their calorie-burning potential.

And get this; the mice who were given gin saw a massive 17 percent increase in their metabolic rate while those who received water saw no change.

The study suggests that the reason for the metabolic speed-up is because the gin seems to cause an "afterburn" effect that revs your metabolism for up to an hour after consumption while your liver processes the alcohol.

The authors are keen to point out that more peer-reviewed research on humans is needed to substantiate the claim.

Not old enough to remember that but I did some work down in the nuclear bunker at RAF Hompton in the 80's where they had leaflets on how to survive a nuclear blast. Apparently if you were given the 3 minute warning you had to pile all your household internal doors against a wall and tape polythene over them then hide behind them.

Where's that ****ing screwdriver????

Yeah, but there's a good chance he'll find his way back...

Whereas some on here couldn't find their way to the next street with a compass and a satnav.

And, if you are going to be stranded anywhere where better than Norfolk with the lovely city of Norwich on your doorstep?
