75 years (in June) since the death of this man whose inventions we still get the benefits of today. Ashamed to say I wasn't aware of his contributions to stereo and TV before being killed in the service of his country. Some people pack a lot into their relatively short lives.
We certainly have produced, for a relatively small country, more than our fair share of people who invented things which changed our lives.

Someone whose passing deserves more attention than a vacuous celeb.
What a different generation. After what he suffered 2 weeks leave and back to work. Compare that to nowadays. Puts us to shame. Then to lose your wife after 2 years to cancer. So glad he found someone else to spend so many years with.

That's shocking - what about the children and those there just for the football? I see points being deducted, and hopefully, banning orders handed out. Not at my club, thank you very much.

How many died because of inhaling fumes? How many were hospitalised due to respiratory problems? How many died due to the conflagration caused by these smoke flares? How many were crushed to death in the stampede to escape? We need to know.
