This approach seems to make more and more sense.
Trying to ween off it .... but then to somehow get say a weekly round up of any important stuff (ideally reasonably concise (so rules out say just taking a Sunday Paper), with little bias (ditto) but with some interesting opinion still. Tall order? There's The Week which is an option, but is there better?
I think I get kept adequately up to date with the days news by the piss takes I get sent on whatsapp.
