And they say the German's don't have a sense of humour...

They do have a sense of humour.

Just not a very funny one.

The traffic warden that nicked me in Cologne last month was a hoot.

His colleague waved me into a parking bay.

With an illuminous yellow plastic baton.

As soon as I'd turned my engine off his mate issued me a €60 on the spot fine.

He was in hysterics as he explained that I wasn't displaying the correct permit and no exceptions could be made.

He nearly pissed himself when I told him that I'd parked there the previous year with no problems.

Tears were rolling down his cheeks as he informed me that the rules had changed a few months earlier and it was my responsibility to be aware of all changes.

Even though I don't actually live in the country.

****ing Gemanic parking enforcement Gestapo double act.

Twat and Twatter they're called.

Laugh a ****ing minute.

Whilst serving in Germany I got pulled over.

60DM fine.

I only had 2 50s.

The coppers just laughed, waved someone else over, who happened to pay in 3 20s. Sent him off. Gave me my change.

Made me laugh tbh.
