Have a dedicated religion and politics thread with the provision of no complaints allowed. I never visit the betting, FNMT, or mental health threads on here, other delicate types are free to do so if a religion/politics thread appears on here. Viewing is not mandatory. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

It doesn't work like that, the arguments generated on the politics thread then spread to other threads, it's what's happened on all the boards that have done it.

Sorry a little bit political

A young man approached Farage in Normandy and told him that "My grandfather was here on D-Day and he really admires you"..
"That's great", said Farage, "What regiment was he in"..
"The 1st SS Panzer Division".

I don't get that - the NAZIs were the Socialist German Workers Party and hated Jews hardly Farage, if you'd have said Corbyn or Abbott, It would have made more sense

just a flavour of how political threads can degenerate

I enjoy lots of non football threads on here and the different opinions, in fact you can pick up valuable tips on travel, investing, wellbeing, local events, gigs and music etc. I would personally favour a politics thread as I don't always like the moderators censorship and I'm perfectly able to ignore or skip childish arguments and rants. When we've opened up General Election threads they've been interesting and not always abusive, I also like these discussions when they tangent off into history, WW2 etc, and find it a shame when they get closed down, more free speech please.

I think Farage is a bit of a chancer and grifting out a career as a politician now, but wouldn't call him far-right.. his policies are free broadband for deprived areas, cut interest on tuition fees, scrap HS2 and to turn British Steel into a workers cooperative... It's hardly a call for Lebensraum.

I can't see him sitting through all the debates in the commons, nor dealing with his constituents diligently, and if he gets Clacton, he'll probably just use it as a soapbox, rather than doing the job he's supposed to.

Most MP's don't sit through all the debates in the commons.
