Jozy is not a target man striker. Never has been and never will be, so for Gus to play him there is a big mistake, which Gus needs to take some of the blame for.
He plays inside left forward for the USA where he does very well, yet we have Connor in that position. I cannot see Connor being shifted from that position with Fletcher in as No 9, our only natural finisher.
Jozy has had so many chances and fked up, for his own mental health and career he needs to go, let alone our own need for a new forward. His reaction on Saturday said it all - he knows that was last chance saloon.
For the sake of the squad he is better off in another place - weder bremen, lille, whichever - to rebuild his confidence and free up some wages, and so our own squad can move on.
Gus needs to start playing players in their natural positions and developing what we do up top / in the forward ranks, rather than just fart on about it. From Connor, Fletch, AJ, Buckley, Alvarez, Giacc,.......even Watmore, Mandron , there is some variety. But with 2 of those being out so far this season, and 2 coming through the ranks it does show how desperately thin we are in attacking options. So you can understand his frustrations, esp with DG and Jozy absorbing positions/salaries.
I just hope we can get shot of both in Jan, and other fresh options in. I know Borini is a little ****er, but i can understand why Gus would still take him. He knows the system and players, has pace and can find the back of the net. Fook knows who else we could get. ..
