Go and check his stats mate. You're on a different planet. You keep slagging off Gus but you're no better. Connor should have started upfront with Buckley or Alvarez coming in out wide. That was the right call imo. I've given Jozy time, too much, he's done. The fact you think a player who should never be pulling on a Sunderland shirt again should be starting games is laughable imo. He flicks his one touch passes off completely randomly, he has no comprehension of where his team mates are. I'll give him his due, he's half a yard quicker but his link up play has spiraled down to useless.
I don't think he played anywhere near as bad yesterday as some are making out on here, although I agree that he just hasn't been close to expected standards when it comes to finishing, and that miss yesterday was a shocker...I honestly think it is time that Mandron and Watmore where brought into the first team squad to see what they can bring to the table...

Of course Fletcher & Wickham have scored more. Altiodre has only started 2 prem games. Fletcher is a better scorer than Altidore but Altidore gives the team more movement & so on. If I'm being honest I would get rid of all 3.
jozy is an out and out striker who does not score goals, i've said it before and i'll say it again, dion dublin started as a cb and went up top, can the cluts not be tried at the back, he's got the physical attributes, **** it who am i kidding, see ya jozy, i wish you well
I defended him last season fella. I said I'd give him till January which is a hell of a lot longer than most have given him. Short of a miracle against the Mags and Hull my mind is made up.
the think is i like him as a person and his effort, keeps himself in superb physical shape, but he just aint cutting the mustard, i want nothing less than to see anybody fail at the club, but enough is enough
How did he do well? Exactly what did he do to warrant your claim? I've seen just about every game he's played in and yet i'm struggling to recall any memorable performances.
Jozy is not a target man striker. Never has been and never will be, so for Gus to play him there is a big mistake, which Gus needs to take some of the blame for. He plays inside left forward for the USA where he does very well, yet we have Connor in that position. I cannot see Connor being shifted from that position with Fletcher in as No 9, our only natural finisher. Jozy has had so many chances and fked up, for his own mental health and career he needs to go, let alone our own need for a new forward. His reaction on Saturday said it all - he knows that was last chance saloon. For the sake of the squad he is better off in another place - weder bremen, lille, whichever - to rebuild his confidence and free up some wages, and so our own squad can move on. Gus needs to start playing players in their natural positions and developing what we do up top / in the forward ranks, rather than just fart on about it. From Connor, Fletch, AJ, Buckley, Alvarez, Giacc,.......even Watmore, Mandron , there is some variety. But with 2 of those being out so far this season, and 2 coming through the ranks it does show how desperately thin we are in attacking options. So you can understand his frustrations, esp with DG and Jozy absorbing positions/salaries. I just hope we can get shot of both in Jan, and other fresh options in. I know Borini is a little ****er, but i can understand why Gus would still take him. He knows the system and players, has pace and can find the back of the net. Fook knows who else we could get. ..
