I think they tried to categorise the cats too much. It's interesting to know what they do but they are much more individual than dogs.
Re cats. oops was replying to Peters link.. Great read...im off back to sleep o and i will be happy who ever we sign because we will have a better squad then we have now.
We need an experienced keeper and Allan McGregor fits the bill. And budget. If we had got Kasper from Lesta and he made a mistake in the first 4 games half of this board would be going mental saying we should have got someone older! If we stay up Kasper can join us then for nowt.
In a ****ing nutshell scarbs. Never seen so much ****e on this board. Peter and Olm are both good posters. Think were all a bit stir crazy waiting for summat to happen. Either that or your all the biggest ****s ive ever met. Either or
It's not goal scoring records alone, my judgement on any striker has never been based on that, as I've said to you many times. The fact is, Campbell was brilliant for us in our promotion season, but has clearly failed to reproduce that form in the Premier League. The Spurs fans though he was ****, the Sunderland fans thought he was mediocre, he's only ever looked good in the Championship and if we signed him now, I'd be disappointed.
Difficult one is Campbell. True, Spurs and Sunderland fans thought he was **** but they do have higher standards than us (although judging by the expectations of some on here perhaps not). I think at 30k p/w he's too expensive for us (not that he wanted to join us anyway) but injuries aside, he's older and more experienced and I personally think he'll do ok to good with Cardiff next season.
Do you think he didn't want to join us or was it the extra £10k a week that made up his mind? Similar to his brother, DJ, who didn't even stay for lunch when he heard about Blackburn's offer. I think most players follow the money - another statement of the obvious!
I'm not sure what we offered him, or if we got that far. But I'd guess the needle between the fans and him would have lowered us down the pecking order with him. Perhaps, it wasn`t quite an Imre Varadi 'I wouldn`t sign for Hull if they were the last club...' but I think it'd have taken a lot of dough combined with Premier prospects to even tempt him. All in all, he was offered £££, Premier League prospects and a clean slate at Cardiff and that would have been hard to match I suppose.
If Campbell had come to us and scored a couple of early goals we would have all loved him again. We might have still hated his dad though!
I personally don't think Campbell is Premier League quality, and I guess we'll see again as this season unfolds (or not if he performs). He never has done previously in arguably better teams.
If you look at the statistics, Billy Whitehurst had less than a couple of good seasons but if you knew how to get the best out of him he was very effective. Look at Campbell's goalscoring record in the Wembley final: 0 but what a pass to Windass!
