I've not seen much of him in action and he is said to be one of Scotlands best keepers but lets be honest Scotland hasn't a reputation for producing goalkeeping talent.Over the past 50 years perhaps only a couple could be rated as EPL standard,Neil Sullivan was perhaps the best with Alan Rough or Craig Gordon next in line ( but he was often injured and didn't produce his best in England).Jim Leighton was tried at Man Utd but was so inconsistent he didn't last too long.I know it's unfair to generalise but imho Scottish keepers are "Flappers" on crosses and indecisive in leaving their line when through balls are played inside the last defender. I liken them to Brazilian keepers for their inconsistency and they fall far behind the likes of Aussie or American keepers .I hope I'm in for a pleasant surprise but will support him all the way,if he signs for us.
i live in glasgow and go to watch Rangers alot.. seen him play many a time when he was here and for scotland too. i honestly believe we have signed(i hope) 1 of the best keepers in Britain. he has been been linked with Man Utd only 2 yrs ago and a host of other clubs before Rangers demise.
I have also seen him many times during my time north of the border, a very good keeper IMO, and for our situation being back in the EPL, I would actually sooner have him than Schmeichel, as he is by far the more experienced.
Agree, was always surprised Rangers didn't get more bids for him. Really happy to have him in the squad, hopefully he can teach Crackers a thing or two.

I expect the signing to be announced tomorrow... http://www1.skysports.com/football/...et-to-sign-Besiktas-goalkeeper-Allan-McGregor
Great signing. Right price and the right age., I don't think we could have done any better than this.
Always my preferred target, and best value for money as well. Unfortunately Leicester and Fulham have not done Kasper or Stockdale any favours, but we've come out of it pretty well it seems.
