Firstly, don't read this if you haven't seen the episodes most recently released and want to preserve any surprises.

I thought I'd make a separate spoilers thread to discuss the Amazon documentary as it releases, as some may not see it immediately or might wait until the whole lot are out before watching. Me, I watched the first three episodes this evening as it was released midnight UK time, so I had a few hours out here in the US.

A few thoughts on the first 3 episodes:

  • I was surprised they didn't spend more time on the pre-Jose part of the season.
  • Jan seems to be held in the very highest regard by all of his teammates. I think we all knew this, but it becomes apparent early on. He clearly loves the club.
  • Jose and team quickly identify Sissoko as a big voice in the dressing room, which surprised me.
  • Aurier, who I and many others give a lot of stick, comes across as funny, engaging, and ultimately very human. He clearly hasn't had an easy life. Sometimes we perhaps forget footballers are human too.
  • Eriksen seems checked out early doors. Though seeing the footage of him in the doc, you forget how good he was for us sometimes.
  • Mourinho is a big, big fan or Dier, and he also has kind words for Foyth during training.
  • Jose lays into Dele early on and that relationship seems like it will be a big driver for us in the future.
  • In our first game against Wolves, Jose mentions Doherty's aggression in a very complimentary way. Funny how that works out eh?
  • You cannot over emphasise the importance of Kane to this team both on and off the pitch. Some speculate that this will be his last season with us and if that's true, it'll be a seismic change for us in every way.
I confess I love the All or Nothing series that have been produced so far, I really enjoy seeing the insights behind the scenes in elite level sport, whether that be the American Football, Rugby or Football ones they've done. This is a great watch if you're into this kind of thing, or if you're a Spurs fan in general.

Obviously there’s an editorial lens on the documentary. But from what you see on the first 3 episodes, it looks like he checked out mentally in the summer. Levy’s comment to Mourinho also might shed some light, speaking about the agent controlling everything and there being no transparency.

From what I’ve seen they’ll actually show the moment Levy tells Eriksen they’re letting him go to Inter, which will be an interesting thing to see.
 
Saw this the other day and it re iterated what I’ve always thought about Eriksen

boring humourless ****...carries an aura of depression about him

This is pretty much true. You don’t hear much from him at all in the first few episodes. In fact none of the new signings were really highlighted at all. Maybe we’ll see more of GLC once he comes into the team more.

Watched them last night, pretty good so far.

Think Hudd covers a lot of it well in his points.

I found it funny when they notice the team is full of nice guys but that Dier is the only one in the team who likes conflict. We could've told the staff that <laugh>

Eriksen's agent sounds just as much of a prick as Bale's. Even though it's evident Eriksen was looking to leave, by the way Levy spoke about his agent with regards to zero communication, I wouldn't be surprised if Eriksen had a voice in his ear influencing his decision. Eriksen himself looked to still be pretty well integrated with the team, didn't seem to do a Bale/ Modric by ostracising himself, even cracked a terrible Christmas cracker joke at one point whilst also saying how much he's enjoyed his time here. Like Hudd, I'll be looking forward to the chat about the Inter bid.

Looks like Jan himself was 50-50 as to whether he wanted to stay. At times last season I got the impression it was the club holding back on giving him a new deal but seems like he hadn't decided where he definitely wanted to be. We may get a better idea in latter episodes as to whether the club offered him the chance to stay or not.

As Hudd also says, you can see the importance of Kane as a leader. It's obviously edited so you can never truly know but certainly seems like he's the true leader at the club despite not holding the armband. Seemingly shares the pre-match hype talk with Jose, they even discuss before one match who should take it, which Jose does.

Future episode previews would suggest a bit on Tanganga which will be good. Intrigued to see what it's like for a young player being given their opportunities in the team and how they react.

I remember a couple of seasons ago where there was that weird argument about who gave the rousing halftime team talk: Poch said it was Hugo, but somebody else (probably Rose or Trippier) were adamant it was Harry Kane even though he was in crutches from that season's ankle injury
 
I watched the first 2 and thought I would save the last one. I did for 2 hours later <laugh>

Jose is much more hands on than I expected and Levy comes across as a decent human being and a Spurs fan. His comment 'I got lucky with Pochettino' shows humility.
