Nobody has answered my question yet. Why is there all this angst this season when in essence things are no different from last season? surgeryman says "the biggest thing is staying in this league as when you are out of it it can take a long time to get back". That was equally true a year ago, but we all just accepted that even if it would be better to survive, we might not. This year there's hand wringing all round. 1950 questions whether our squad is actually stronger. The only question that matters is whether it is strong enough to keep us up. We don't know, and we didn't know that last year either. I'm asking you people a question about your own psychology but none of you are offering me an answer!![]()
I would say you are overestimating some peoples reactions. My first games at Carrow Road were standing at the River End. Ten minutes left to go City 0-1 down and people leaving in droves. Why? Even when we had won games, the announcer would get abuse hurled at him. "Oi int watching thet there ****e agin" as they trundled out of the ground.
While the presentation of football has changed remarkably over the years, peoples attitudes haven't. A loss is bad enough but two in a row is reason for mutiny! Other people have always had a more phegmatic approach. Who is right I have an opinion on. But its doesn't detract from the half empty brigades right to go along, moan yet turn up again the next match.
Last season was the third part in the success story that is NCFC. After several years of managerial and palyer changes and poor performances.
Maybe this season is being taken for granted and many half empty people expect us to be successful. So consequently the bleaker outlook. Personally I like to take one game at a time. One aful, followed by 4 exciting and pleasing followed by last Saturdays dire performance.
But I don't thnk any less of the people who are already waiting for the Championship fixtures to come out. The same way as I don't think any less of those who think that there is no problem.
