How? it shows them going at pretty much the same speed in the tunnel as Hamilton pulls alongside however Hamilton is not allowing Massa back onto the racing line. At this point Massa disappears from shot as he has his meeting with the barriers.

what are you talking about?massa goes wide first which allows lewis to overtake.
but lewis did not make contact to force massa to go out wide on the marbles in the first place.
i cant see how lewis is at fault for massa's crash.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I was posted the thread because I found it amusing, not to cause offense. Anyone who read it would have been immediately clear it was not related to F1.

I apologize if I caused any offense as it was not intentional.

It didn't come off that way to me, sea-man, but ok.

Well, I thought I had the stamina to argue a point to the nth degree but I've had enough now.

At the end of the day it's all a matter of opinion and you can't force people to change their minds.

'Night all.

at first ppl are complaining about lewis making contact when he overtakes.and now eventhough he didnt make contact and just took advantage of the space to get past massa, ppl are saying he shouldnt of overtaken massa, instead he should have let massa get back on the racing line infront of him.
this IS MOTOR RACING.you see a gap,you make the most of it.

Even if you know that by forcing the other driver offline you have consigned them to a crash?

Wow I go away for a hour to watch Louis Theroux and come back to see all hell has broken loose. Come on guys where is the love? This is not 606.

It appears to me from the clip of the part in the tunnel that Massa is offline from the start in the tunnel. Hamilton didn't change his line or make a block. To me it looks like Hamilton simply drove the racing line through the tunnel and Massa was offline before Hamilton got there - which is another reason why he was going slower.

It looks like Hamilton being there made no difference, Massa would have gone off either way.

sea-man, Massa said that his car was damaged and couldnt do anything after the corners. I respect his opinion more than anyone's on here <ok> It wasnt LH hitting him in the tunnel, but he did cause it if Massa is telling the truth

Damage from Hamilton collidig with him perchance? Wel never know as the damaged parts cartainly cannot be analysed though. There was debris and it certainly didn't seem to affect Hamilton. Perhaps McLaren made a sturdier car this year for this reason after Hamilton's crashathon last year

Is that why Jenson was struggling on the parade lap <ok> Didnt expect it so strong?

I agree in part with what sea-man is saying. Hamilton wasn't close enough to Massa to force him offline in the tunnel, to me at least, it looks like Massa took a wider line into the tunnel, whether because he got out of shape or just prefers a slightly different line. This, combined with a good dose of KERS from Hamilton, probably let him get his nose inside the back wheels of Massa.

Note, this next bit is opinion, so feel free to disagree (but play nice!)

I think Massa did realise he was running out of road, and very fairly, didn't turn in on Hamilton, which could have resulted in a messy accident if Hamilton couldn't have reacted quickly enough. I think Massa tried to brake to tuck in behind him, but being on the marbles, didn't brake as stably as normal, which put him in the barriers. My main reason for thinking this is the distance that Hamilton was ahead of the (albeit crashed) Massa when they exited the tunnel. I think Massa had already slowed before he collided. I'd put it down as a racing incident, exacerbated by the marbles, the aerodynamic properties of the tunnel, and the damage to Massa from the incident at the Loews Hairpin (which Massa wouldn't have had time to assess fully).
