Back home now after a hectic day at the office and I wanted to offer my sincere congratulations once again Mick. I am currently drinking a beer to your very good health.
I have done a lot of reflecting over the last few days, also about this forum. Whilst I sometimes despair at the petty gripes, oneupmanship and posturing on here I have been truly touched by the messages of support to you across the board. For me, every one of those messages is worth a thousand times more than anything related to a winner on this forum and I am proud of the collective human spirit the posters have displayed. Very humbling.![]()
I've just had a visit from the ENT consultant/surgeon, Dr Loh in regard to Fridays biopsy.
It seems the radiotherapy DID work after all. and what they thought was the tumour through the endoscope was in fact scar tissue, partially hidden with swelling, caused by the radiotherapy.
He also debulked my windpipe and I managed to use a blocked off trachy yesterday and all seems back to normal with that. So, with a bit of luck, trachy comes out tomorrow and I'll be home 48 hours later cancer free!!!
Talk about from one extreme to the other!!!
I can't thank all you guys enough for your support the last week or so. Who knows? Your positive vibes might have been heard and prayers answered by the big fella!!!
I feel like I just won the race in the stewards room!!!

Edoscopy done and passed with flying colours.
Swallow test done with soup and ice cream. Passed with flying colours....yummy!!
Trachy out and patched up and on a pureed food diet today, then fork mashed solids tomorrow....
...then home in time for a beer and ITV racing on Saturday!!!
Oh how things change!!!!
