hasn't scored since although he has been out injured
Elmo scored only one or two this season
Brady was banging them in last season playing left midfield upto his injury nothing this season
Huddlestone last scored v Sheff Utd in the FA Cup
Livermore only scores v Spurs
Ramierez has only scored 1 goal
And the Centre backs, Curtis Davies got several headed goals last season and Chester had a couple but now nothing
Its all very depressing

Dunno what you're issue is but you're wrong on most accounts.

Jelavic hadn't scored in 18 months before signing and has 12 for us.
Chester scored two headed goals this season against QPR and Sunderland and has been injured for a chunk.
Brady's 'banging them in' was a goal from open play against Newcastle and two penalties.
Livermore scored against West Brom and Liverpool last season, not Spurs, since he was ineligible.
Diame quite rightly hasn't scored in a while because he's been injured.
McShane scored on the weekend who is a CB.

What do we do to strikers that sign for us ?
This season Hernandez looked a world beater when he fist signed and played at home v West Ham and has hardly scored since
Then the Dame came and scored 3 goals in 4 games now he looks to be tapering out.
Midfielders are no better Diame scored for fun in August/September and

It certainly is very depressing when you have a mentality like that.

Liven the hell up.

This is why Greg Dyke annoys me. He moans that they aren't enough young players in the PL, but the fact is very few are ready to go straight into it. I don't see the problem as the championship is incredibly strong and there's an abundance of young English talent coming through at the minute. You used to almost automatically get into the U21s if you were of age and playing in the championship. Just look now players like Bryam, Cook and Mowatt. None of them have got into U21s yet and there's a lot more similar players. Tyrone Mings, Odubajo, Afobe etc

Mr Mings is in the news today - a positive story.

The thing is, I'm in two minds about this:

1. He's done a good thing, and it seems it's not the first act of generosity from him.

2. However, he's presumably earning something like 400k a year (maybe more), and sorting out parents' debts should in most cases be right at the top of a newly rich footballer's to-do list. It's not exactly going to bankrupt him. And he chose to share this text exchange on Instagram, unlike the thousands of players who must have done a similar thing without telling the world.

As I said, I'm in two minds. Does that make me a bitter cynic?

Nah, good for him. He obviously loves his mam very much, and is happy to share what he did, and why not? Spreads a little love, shows younguns that they don't have to act like pricks.

Steve Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail: “John (Rudge, Hull City scout) was watching Wolves versus Leeds. Looking at the articles, it was probably the agents. Look, it is our job to track all good, young players.

“There is no doubt he is a good player. It is a bit premature to say Alex Mowatt is on the radar.

“He is a good young player but that is as far as it has gone. I think his agent has had a part. Last year, there were 150 players I was linked with and we bought five.”

We repeatedly hear how footballers are role models for their communites. How are they ever to be role models if all their good deeds are kept quiet and all we hear about is the bad stuff they get up to which the press pick up on?

I'd like to see footballers publish more things like Mr. Mings recent PR stunt.
