He looks the business to me <ok>
Not too concerned by £7m £8m up front either.
It's about time we spent some money. :)

No doubt. We have always been willing to pay as much as needed to get great potential. Just this summer we bid £15 plus Million for Jones. That is more then Phil Jagielka. Maybe its a club policy to go all out to get the best young players and also the best British players it seems now.

In response to an earlier question. Having watched all three he is twice the player that Theo was at that age and on a par with Bale. He is unproven at this level true, but I think he is capable of getting you near 4th rather than 5/6th this year. And yes I think he will be a regular mid way through the season. a lot of money but more importantly a 40% sell on clause is incredible business.

I'm starting to think Wenger has completely lost the plot! 12m for a player that was above average, NOT amazing in L1. Whether that be 7m upfront and the rest over whatever clauses I don't know but I can't help but think you guys are getting ripped off at the moment. Walcott had alot of talent at the same age and you guys splashed out for him and he's hardly provided anything special since, personally I think Wenger has destroyed everythin Walcott had and he will end up doin the same with Oxo

As a Saints fan I agree with you, Wenger has destroyed everything Walcott had. AOC has as much if not more potential than Walcott but no disrespect to you guys I don't thing moving to Arsenal NOW is a great move. You need established players to keep up with top 3 and AOC needs regular football to develop albeit in the championship. FFS he hasn't even played a game in that league.

Saints fan here. Thanks for the 12mill up front which will rise to 15mill in the future. We'll spend it wisely unlike you. He only had 2 years left on his contract at Saints - if u waited another year you would have got him for much less. That is shocking business from Wenger.

Next target. <ok>

Never heard of him.

Adam Lallana. <ok>

Very classy player and would suit our system and game. Maybe next year we will take him.

No, doesn't ring a bell, you must mean Tommy Forecast.

No, not even Forecast. In fact, that's not even a Saints player. Exeter City strip. Note the FlyBe.com. Probably Jamie Cureton. Good player, he'd score a few for you. We play with AAP3, anyway. ;)

Why does wenger insist on buying young players who will clearly never reach a decent level, oh i mean english youngsters anyway :P

£12m with £3m add-ons and 40% sell-on, **** me! you have a great player on your hands though. Take good care of him because he will be a big part of the future of English football if he fulfils his potential.

I'm glad we managed to hold out for a great deal too.

And Arsenal fans, don't feel guilty for headhunting our most important and influential player, you haven't! Still, you have got a serious asset.

If he's not immediately in your first team plans, get on the blower to Owen Coyle, he deserves it.

Not sure what figure to believe. You'd think with Arsenals penny pinching they wouldn't agree on such a deal. 40% sell on clause? Thats absurd!!!

Anyways, call me a cynic but this deal looks like we are buying him as an investiment, to be sold on for a tidy profit. I mean, Wengers project has gone for 6 years without a trophy, instead of buying experienced players to take us a step closer to winning, he buys ANOTHER inexperienced youngster with potential?!?! We already have loads of them!

I really can't see what OXO will do for us this season apart from the odd Carling Cup/FA cup game.........

Shame to see AOC go, but thanks for the cash, the add-ons and the sell-on fee.

Personally I don't think the move is the right one for him. He would have got regular first team football at Saints, which would have only improved his already considerable talent. Heck, even a move to the likes of Blackburn, Stoke or Aston Villa would have probably given him more first team experience than he's going to get at Arsenal for the next few years.

Still that yet another wunderkind moving off the academy line to join Bale and Walcott and Bridge.... Hell, even our record for producing second "regular footballers" like Surman, Baird and Dyer isn't a bad one. I suspect we'll be having the same discussion about James Ward-Prowse in a couple of years.

So, anyway, thanks for the cash. Don't waste his potential like you did Theo, cos I want to see the boy in an England shirt some day.
