Macca was a fabulous player, one of the best to wear the hoops. It's extremely sad for him to die at such a young age but, for whoever saw him play at Loftus Road, he will live on in our memories.

Gutted, just heard the news about Macca! truely an R's legend, will always be in my thoughts, such a really nice guy.
God rest your soul Alan, you will always be a QPR hero....RIP<rose><rose>

Very sad and a real surprise. Macca was one of the reasons I fell for this club, a formative hero. Rest in peace. My condolences to his family.

Just dragged myself out of bed and read this......absolutely gutted...

A proper QPR legend in every sense of the word......

RIP big man...thoughts are with his family and loved ones.......

lucky enough to have shared a drink with supermac in the red lion uxbridge many a year ago, true gentleman and superb player whom i was proud to have as my teams captain. my thoughts too for the family. quite unbelievable this.

Macca wasn't just a true legend he was also a colossus. He was a man who led by example and was always willing to give everything to the team.
I was privileged to see most of his games for the r's and he never held back from any tackles.

R.I.P Macca and condolences to your family and friends.

Some of us will be meeting at QPR from half six then heading for the crown and sceptre and will raise a glass and pay our respects to Alan at Half seven before the game please come if you can.
R.I.P. Legend there was only one Alan McDonald
.

Totally shocked and gutted at this. A proper player and a great bloke. I met him a few years ago at a Mothers Day lunch. We both had sneaked outyside for a sneaky *** and got talking.
Sincere condolensces to his family, RIP Big Man.

I think my honouring of the man will be by buying the new seasons home shirt and having McDONALD 6 on the back, maybe the club could do this on all the players shirts a la Ray Jones for the Swans game???
