Poor Alan Curbishley waited for an opportunity and was out of the game for nearly 4 years, takes his first position in December and is sacked before February is out?
You have to say thats ****ing unlucky mind.
On a more serious note, just where does that leave him now in football? Touted for many a job over the past 3 seasons, and for us by some in the last 2 or 3 appointments, he was totally overlooked when it became obvious Rene Madeanarseofit just wasn't a manager and they needed a managerial appointment to step in to the breach? Instead of just looking to their left at an employee you'd imagine has all the credentials, they turned to another barn pot of a manager who is as likely to rip that dressing room apart as he is unite it in the run in this season.
Is Curbs, once fancied as a future England coach not so long ago, totally out of the loop now for another managers job? I thought he did a decent job in the past and always seemed like a knowledgeable bloke who would do a decent job at a middle of the road club like Fulham but he has been sacked after less than 3 months? Surely he would have more of a grasp of the task ahead and the English game than looney Magath? Is it a case of home grown managers being overlooked for the foreign managers again or is Curbs just not up to the job these days?
