Michel Platini has a long lost Cape Verdean son?

Great draw for Cape Verde! Shame they couldn't hold on for the win.

This is such a tight group. I want Cape Verde to progress because I like their style, but they're going to have a hard time against Angola.

I agree. They were unlucky against S.Africa too. It just seems they don't have the stamina to keep up their good play into the later stages of the second half.

So the early game finished Ghana 1-0 Mali via a penalty. However the Ghana goalkeeper should have been sent off after just 7 minutes for a deliberate handball outside of the box. Now for Niger v Congo which should see a Congo win. Hopefully there's a few more goals in this game. Congo looked quite good in the first game 2-2 draw with Ghana.

Dammit Mali don't disappoint me again. DRC surely to win next, but expect Niger to be quite negative and tight at the back.

The main reason I want Congo to win is to see some more of that bonkers goalkeeper celebrations.

"He will never get a better chance to score than this" says the commentator rather prematurely. Prove him wrong Modibo!

I for some reason quite like Lua Lua.. Despite the fact that he played for Pompey, and scored against us, and just attempted a volley from a stupid angle. Oh and Niger should have just scored. 1 on 1 with the keeper and hit the post.

Great save from the Niger keeper. Great play by Mbokani as well.

A dreadful attempt at the offside trap from Niger there!

The Niger keeper has made some great saves. 0-0 ht and another thriller.

This continues to be a really dreadful tournament. Last year's was so much better.

Another dull 0-0 draw. Not sure why I'm persisting with watching it, might give it a rest until the quarters.

I'm yet to witness a live goal from the 3 1/2 matches I've seen thus far.
Zambia tomorrow and hopefully Mayuka will start
