The C.A.F tournament has just got under way and ITV/Euro sport will be showing every game

Our very own Mayuka will be representing the reigning champions Zambia.

    The competition is being held in South Africa and the following 16 sides are taking part;

    Group A

    South Africa
    Cape Verde
    Morocco
    Angola

    Group B

    Congo DR
    Niger
    Mali
    Ghana

    Group C

    Nigeria
    Zambia
    Burkina Faso
    Ethiopia

    Group D

    Ivory Coast
    Tunisia
    Algeria
    Togo

Do you have any predictions for the tournament?
Which players/teams should we look out for?
What did you think of the games you've seen?

I predict Ivory Coast to massively underachieve. Again.

An abysmal game to start the tournament.

Didn't they get to the final last time? Admittedly they should have won it, but that's still acceptable. The perennial underachievers of this tournament are Morocco. How do they not do better with those players?

I fancy Mali for this one, and perhaps Angola or Togo to upset the apple cart a bit.

When is Zambia's 1st game? Sorry I know that is incredibly lazy, as it is probably just a google search away.

They play Ethiopia on Monday. Should be an easy win.

Horrendous. South Africa were terrible. Just lumping long often over hit passes in the general direction of their strikers. Sunday league stuff. Things can only get better :D

The first two games sums up where the acon is in the football tourney league table. The bottom. It is a poor tournament. I only reason I will follow is to see how mayuka gets on.

Mayuka leaves the country for five minutes and his manager has gone!!!

On a serious note, anyone wanting to know...

Mayuka plays for Zambia at 3pm on Monday - ITV2/BBC3 coverage?

Zambia, Ghana and Ivory Coast should do well. After watching the opening game you feel Angola and Morocco have an easy passage to the last 8.

Three draws so far. I reckon Mali will set that right this evening though.

Looks like I'm getting only 1 point in the prediction game now...unless Saints do the business tomorrow.

The Ghana v Congo game is why I love the ACON. It may have a lot of poor teams, and the two games yesterday were dull. But you have got to love the flair and passion, and even more so the celebrations! If you haven't seen them, watch the celebrations from the Ghana v Congo game. The Congo GK in particular (the one with the...interesting haircut) celebrating the equaliser with the most bizarre celebration I've seen.

Yeah love the colourful kits and fans too. The goalkeepers are always lively and love to dive and flap at crosses they're not getting anywhere near.
