Ok I've watched the first half so far. The first thing that springs to mind is how lenient the ref is. He's ignored all sorts of fouls, not been bothered by any penalty shouts, only went for the yellow for Flamini, just all round trying not to have to do anything lol Cech, Ramsey, Ozil, Giroud and Bellerin looked good in that half, oxo looked his usual liability self until he scored and then all of a sudden he turned into a professional, kept with his runner, didnt give the ball away anymore. Sanchez not looking like he is up to the pace of the game, nothing really working for him. Comfortable half. Time to watch the second.
Second half we went into game management mode and didn't really get challenged until the 91st minute when Cech had to spring to life. Oxo reverted to his usual giving the ball away so I'm not surprised he went off. Closed out the game well enough and never looked like we wouldn't take all the points. I think comfortable is a good word to describe both halves.
Head-to-head record between the Premier League top five in 2015-16 Team P W D L F A GD Pts Arsenal 4 3 1 0 11 4 7 10 Leicester 6 2 3 1 8 8 0 9 Tottenham 5 1 2 2 6 5 1 5 Man Utd 4 1 2 1 2 4 -2 5 Man City 5 0 2 3 3 9 -6 2 Interesting table from an article on the BBC showing results between the top five.
Makes it all the more annoying that they lower their performance levels and drop points elsewhere. They are more than capable of winning the league but can't maintain consistency. We will probably play Leicester and win but then randomly lose. We have to play every game like it was a cup final from now on!
Makes you wonder what would be said about us if we had the results that Man C have experienced against the top rivals - things like 'flat track bullies', bottlers, 'can't cope against big teams or in pressure games' have been thrown at us in seasons past, yet nothing about Citey except that they are 'a bit inconsistent'. Lets see if we can actually pull our finger out and start beating the mid-table and bottom sides (we are all ready doing well against the promoted sides), then we could go on one of our famous 2nd half of the season winning runs...
