What about Ally McCoist? Did a good job at rangers under considerable pressure and he played for you boys so must have some affinity for you.
Yeah, I'd not be upset with Sam one bit. Probably, yeah. But would we be able to get say McClaren whilst Derby are fighting for promotion? I think we need to wait until seasons end and evaluate.
I think a short term appointment is a good idea but it needs to be someone experienced in keeping teams in the premier league. I don't have a clue who that would be. Shame David Moyes is not still looking for a job as he would be perfect for us, Man Utd was just not the right job for him. I am not sure about McClaren myself but I think were short on options. Allardyce would certainly play the Sunderland way, big players, hard tackles and getting the ball forward quickly. I am scared were going to make the wrong appointment and do a Fulham and be down.
Dick Advocaat is a terrible manager. His footballing philosophy is terrible. You are much better off stumping the money up for Big Sam and getting him to work his magic
Your idea of a great job is incredibly different to mine mate, haha. He refused direct orders and spent millions on hotels as 'it's the Rangers way' and overpaid through 2 tin pot leagues before hitting a wall as soon as there was some competition. I'd take up knitting and **** football off for life if we went for McCoist.
If they want Allardyce, tell him the jobs his but he doesn't start til next Monday. He wouldn't be able to organise a victory for us on Saturday, but he could engineer a West ham defeat !
He married a local lass so I suppose his affinity is totally sexual, so if he offers 'good football' or your money back or even a tart or two hanging around the endless bars in the SOL for a quick shag and a free scarf, then yep, lets hire the ****er..
"We should sign Wenger, Ferguson or Ancelotti. Or maybe Ancelotti with Wenger as DoF and Fergie as assistant." Monty 18:00, 16/03/15
Apparently from the dutch media Advocaat has been picked up by private plane today and was flown to Birmingham along with new assistant Zeljko Petrovic. They will be in charge of training tomorrow already. Chris Woerts arranged the initial contacts between Sunderland and Advocaat.
