People always say that but it's not the issue. The issue is that the pitch doesnt get 2 weeks to recover and is instead used every week for a few months, causing untold damage. But you're right, it wont happen.
As a fan of both city and FC I welcome this. Looking at this thread, people seem to be reading too much into it. I think maybe Adam Pearsons position at city has become slightly marginalized and he wants something of his own to run. Doesn't have enough money to own a decent football team, but enough to own a top rugby team. Add to that he knows the city of Hull and FC run at a profit every year. So good business sense too.
Im also a fan of both City and FC, this is great news for FC. I belive Pearson tried to buy FC befor so think his intentions are true! In the futre it may help the Allam's buy the KC and that would be great news for City. FC get around 12,000 crowds and thats not too bad they get more if there playing a top team and KR but they dont push too hard as they dont make much money after a certain amout due to the agreement they had when they moved into the KC, thats why the prices are so high! I hope this changes and the prices come down! As for a merge, no chance of this happening, they might work closer together like playing a joint team v England or NZ depending on how much money they can make from this!
It'll be to do with the KC and developing it. It was partly Trevor Brooking and partly FC complaining that 32k was too big that made it 25k to start with as they were going to hold back funding/bitch away to the Council about how they didn't want if we tried to build it that big. It's now the Allam's money so Brooking's rabble providing funding isn't as vital, and by owning FC it removes the objection from the co-tenants. I wonder if there's some part of the leases that prevents anybody owning all 3 companies (City, FC and SMC) and AP legally owning it is a way of getting round it for the Allams, or maybe I paid too much attention to Dispatches.
