Completely agree mate, was just about to make a thread about him
He gets a lot of stick but today he showed exactly what he's capable of, hopefully we see much more of this Adam Johnson.

If he keeps that up until May, not only will we benefit but he could yet turn Woys eye for that summer jaunt on the Copacabana.
Not without good reason to be fair ......... last night showed why.
He wasn't bought as another Gardner but that's exactly how he usually plays ......... last night he played as himself.

when was the last time anybody saw aj run at a defence like that ,i cannot remember when , no defenders like it and he should know this,i bet gus has said to him this is it get some fire in your belly or its the highway for you as i need commitment from everybody in every game
Poyet's comments about AJ, after the match, said a lot .............. he sounded so relieved, as if he'd finally managed to get through to him.

how come everyone can see AJ best position is on the right cutting in , but Gus Poyet, last night should of proved it to him he changed the game, okay he has been hit and miss for us since he signed but every time he has had a decent game it is one the right, come on Gus don't accomodate other players like you have in the past and play him on the right.
He has the ability but lacks the motivation. A seat to Rio surely could do that now with Walcott missing.

Johnson gave Tom Cleverley nightmares no doubt, he exposed Cleverley and confirmed to me that Tom Cleverley is not good enough, his development has halted and he should be replaced immediately. Fletcher looked twice the player when he came on.
I'd like to say we were poor as an excuse but we weren't even that bad, I thought we played some good stuff at times but with Welbeck up front and getting nothing from Januzaj we weren't looking like finishing off any moves. You worked hard and grafted out that win, I predicted it pre-game so I wasn't surprised.
This makes for an exciting 2nd leg, I'd expect, or as a paying fan I'd demand Moyes puts out our strongest 11 in the 2nd leg of this tie and that included Rooney and RVP together if they are both fit, and excludes Tom Cleverley at all costs. With our strongest 11 I'd expect to still go through to the final, although if we have a similar squad to what we had out last night I think you can book your trains to Wembley.

Thing is you only have to look at Walcott to see that big players can pick up season threatening injuries in cup ties where passions often reigns above common sense. Can Man Utd afford to risk a half fit Rooney and returning RVP in a blood and thunder league cup game (which it will be) when the EPL and European games are still very much alive? If Utd lost one or both if them for 6 or 7 weeks then the season is over and Moyes is under massive pressure.

Cest I agree with that mate, not going to argue with it apart from the EPL still being alive, it's not for us and unless Moyes brings in some creative player(s) this month in midfield, the CL run won't last much longer either.
United have never made a big fuss out of the league cup but it's a good chance for Moyes to break his duck and I think he needs to take it, if we have a fully fit strike force I expect them all to start regardless of league/CL objectives simply because Moyes needs the credit.

I believe you played your strongest team available mate? Rooney and RVP will probably be Playing in the 2nd leg, so advantage is still slightly in your favour.
Was at the game with my brother, I'm sure I've told you before that he's a Man Utd season ticket holder. He is sorting tickets for OT as I sorted last nights tickets. He was hugely frustrated with Cleverley last night, Carrick looked a different class. I'm more confident now for OT as Carrick is easily your best midfielder and Ki bossed the midfield last night.

If RVP plays I expect a few crunching tackles ( legal ones like) put in on him to make him wary on a comeback. I think John O Shea and Wes Brown are the key to our success or not at OT. Their experience of playing in that stadium and atmosphere will be vital to settling our players. They were magnificent together again last night.
Yeah that was probably it pal, I was referring to the 2nd leg and hoping that if players are fit then they start and we don't rest them as 'it's only the league cup'. Your brother is a good man!
