i remember this game well ,took the coach with other fans never been so scared in my life.Got to the ground i say around 2pm as their was trouble outside the ground,we were penned in near the home stand i say about 7000 fans had turned up ,i was right down the front in the far right corner.a fight broke out with about 20 chelsea fans in our section and they got escorted out by stewards as were being set upon by charlton fans.durie won a penalty and scored but paul miller equalised which sent them down to the play offs.We left the ground ****ting our pants so to speak ,the streets where all quiet,it all kicked off again at the local tube station when charlton fans surrounded chelsea fans hell bent on trouble,west ham fans i rem sang to chelsea fans charlton fans kicked your ass

1988, and JA has lifted this story from Charlton Life. I too was at the game, and it did kick off big time. I even remember the Charlton punk girl mentioned in the Charlton Life thread, throwing punches as she was being ejected from the ground. She connected with at least two Chelsea blokes faces. She even attempted to headbutt another. What a legend she was.
 
ia i passed that info on to terry hurlock for you it was embarrasing say the least ,kevin hales pissed himself laughing so i think hes going have great delight in telling him for u!.Thanks reams if you are serious regarding my thread i read your messages today,i will stick to my page if im allowed on.RE chelsea article i did i did take that from charlton life your right rifleman,i watched the video today ,brought back some memories let me tell u!.One question always baffled me how did they get those cars behind the goal on to the pitch?when game finished the coach drver did a runner and i was left stranded with about 20 or so fans ,so i had take tube from the local tube station where trouble broke out ,but chelsea fans where pinned in by charlton fans if i rem i had get a lift from charing cross that evening
