He wanted to sign a better striker than the ones we signed, but didn't. So we will in January. That's what he said.
After years of bemoaning owners who thought they were above the fans, who didn’t care about us and were in it for themselves we have a Chairman who at the very least appears to genuinely love us, the city and the club. He’s flown thousands of miles to talk to us completely free of charge, either in person or online. And… I’ve binned it off to watch Taskmaster. I don’t even like Taskmaster, but Jesus Christ I just couldn’t take any more.
This is like a salesman trying to convince us The Vauxhall corsa is what we really want and not the Audi
Look on the bright side, imagine if you spoke Turkish and got in to a conversation with him in Turkish. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Why not just focus on things that really matter (the intention, the ambition, the passion, the commitment, etc) rather than the quirks, foibles, etc. Short memories. Fans of most clubs would love to have an owner like we've now got.
We could. He’s eccentric and unpredictable in a charming but worrying way. Still, despite my criticisms of him, I wouldn’t blame him if he said to Tan ‘we’re not ****ing doing this again, get the plane fuelled and ready to go’.
Anyway, I turned it off and did something else. What was said after the question about the council and the stadium?
Just In: Martians were going to invade Earth, but this live stream has prompted an immediate cessation of these plans. A statement from the Martian Supreme Council says that the search for a planet having intelligent forms of life will continue.
Full credit for him for fronting up again, personally I don't see why he bothers. These Q@A sessions are as dull as ditch water at the best of times, unless the club is in turmoil and the fans want the owners blood. Otherside he flies in from Turkey to listen to people whinging about the service on the concourse and eight year olds asking for free away travel, even he must be wondering why he bothers and he looked bored to death, and he must have been wondering why there were so many empty seats. So all a bit flat for me. But I appreciate him taking the time to explain most of what we already knew to the few fans who bothered to turn out when he could have still been enjoying his honeymoon in a more exoctic location than HU3.
**** it,when's the next one,I'm coming down for it... First question from Ric Glasgow...Erm,good evening AJUN,you beautiful person, what about free travel from Glasgow AND a seat in the box?
There were a couple of questions in there like that, mainly around the stadium and the developments and what happens next if they can't do anything about it. To be fair to Tan and Acun, their responses were clearly genuine and despite a lot of the pointless alcoholics that can't get their beer quickly enough questions and despite people clamouring for freebies, and despite people complaining that Acun waffles on, he often steered his answers to dispel some of the things levelled at him in recent weeks, which became the pressing issues to some people. As far as I'm concerned, the 'why' behind the keeper situation, the striker situation, the apparent struggles in some areas of recruitment, the timelines surrounding the window, this season's targets and where Acun stands on Walter have been clarified and put to bed once and for all.
If anything, this Q&A has debunked the phrase ‘there’s no such thing as a stupid question’. There definitely is.
