Acun Out

Am I the only one who didnt think his interview was that bad? You have to cut him slack for his choice of words.. if he spoke perfect english he'd be much better at getting his point across. Also he's clearly defending someone he's known for a while, although he'd have been better off not saying anything as he's not come off looking great.
He’s a media/pr man probably marketing too
He’s never going to slag anyone off that’s his image

Feels like there could be a little more understanding for language and cultural differences. He's obviously got a bit of an undeveloped view of what constitutes as racism but for me seems more from a place of ignorance. I suppose it would be like putting our parents/grandparents on the spot. I certainly don't share the same worldview and if I was sat across from him I'd express that, but I'm not going to beat him up for it.

I would have liked for Mike to simply remind him that the club is in England and so how we view it within our culture is the important thing with regards to Emre.

To be fair he kept saying he respects everyone's opinion and how things are in England compared to Turkey. He's clearly not a racist himself but maybe shouldnt have tried to justify what the other guy did, you're never going to come off well in that situation even if you mean well.

I think that’s letting him off the hook. By denying there is any racism in Turkey shows that he’s not willing to understand the issue. Of course there is racism in Turkey.

What he means is ‘I’ve never experienced racism in Turkey and I’ve taken no steps to understand how it affects people’

he should use an interpreter moving forward, I appreciate his effort, but he is not fluent enough to get over the subtle elements of our language.

Honestly, I thought he came across as an egotistical dick.

That wasn't a language barrier it was an everyone else is to blame but me barrier.

IMHO of course.
