I believe in freedom of choice, if a woman wants an abortion that is her choice and no moral highgrounders have any right to tell her otherwise.

Sorry Dev, we've moved on from this antiquated outlook. Nowadays, I think you'll find, the great thinkers amongst us have adopted the inarguable slogan "up the bum, no babies".

Try to keep up with developments, okay?

Technically maybe, but not in the traditional sense. What do you think anyway Jen? Is it murder or are you on the "it's her body" side? And if you pro-choice, what should be the time limit?

i think abortions are fine, as long as they are done for the right reasons, if the parents can not afford or dont have the capacity to care for a child then it is absolutely right for them to abort a baby. i think the limit needs to be reduced though, some babies are born at 23 weeks and survive. maybe lower it to 20 weeks.

end of the day, the only way to ensure that pregnancy doesnt occur is by not having sex. people act surprised when they find out they are pregnant even when using contraception but its not foolproof. thats the risk you take everytime when you have sex.

I disagree more with contraception than abortion to be honest but i agree with your thoughts on abortion though.

whats wrong with contraception?

I do not mean all forms of contraception i just mean condoms, I'm not a fan I've tried to use them but really can't stand them besides if someone gets pregnant due to me then I'm not a **** (in that way anyway i can see why some would call me one though) and I'd accept it.

I've no problem with the pill or the injections or what ever because its not my place to say otherwise, I'm not a woman so i would never tell a lassie otherwise which is my reason for agreeing with you on abortion.

Why limit to 20 weeks though? Why not extend it to 40?

I only really agree with abortion if the mother is not fit to look after a child i.e. smackhead, etc. That woman on the tram the other day an all, people like that shouldn't be allowed to raise kids!

I don't buy this crap about "It's her body, she can do what she wants with it".

If we can do what we want with our bodies, than why are we stigmatising fat people or anorexic people. It's their body right? Suicide? Their body. Drugs? alcahol? Their body.

Yes, exactly.

Once they are dead? Whose body is it? Government property? Belongs to their family?

Once someone dies, their body becomes the same as any other inanimate object. It's like asking what happens when a fox dies. Someone clears up the body and contacts the appropriate people.

because no babies can survive at 20 weeks.

I know that's the reason. But pro-choicers usually justify abortion with the "it's her body, let her do what she wants with it" line. But it's still her body after 20 weeks. Why only be humane towards the baby when it's able to survive?
