It was all to do with yourself and nowt to do with the innocent child you would have killed, at least be honest.

My son is severely disabled. But he is a ray of sunshine most of the time, and the thought of someone aborting a child like him because of a similar disability is very troubling.

I get that entirely Jip but if someone knew their unborn baby was going to be severely disabled to the point where they would have an awful quality of life they have to consider whether they can cope. I think if people decide they cannot that has to be respected.

Fair enough. But if we'd have known how things were too turn out, we'd still have kept him. Maybe that's selfish or selfless, it's hard to say.

I just can't abide the heartless twats who abort just because a baby doesn't fit into their career plan or because they want to travel <doh>

If someone is willing to abort their child due to it beind disabled they don't deserve to be parents, let alone be respected.

I wonder if Shameless will tell her son/daughter she was going to kill them if they were in some way handicapped?

The world is upside down if that should be respected.

for me it depends on the level of disability and the impact on quality of life for the child. i cannot imagine anyone in that position is going to take that decision lightly.

So where would you draw the line at Science?

Female eggs are frequently harvested, storage of stem cells from the child's placenta or use from a matching donor, genetically selective impregnation, use of monitoring technology with corrective/preventitive chemical prescriptions ...

You keep justifying it with yer pish Princess <ok>

Ultimately it is the parents decision and most people who decide to terminate a pregnancy do not do it lightly . It is a horrible decision to make and does not come without consequences .

Luckily enough in this country women only need to judtify their decision to a doctor . Shameless or any other parent does not need to justify thrmselves to you or the particular religious dogma you happen to follow .

Chief, are you aware that the Minister mentioned in the OP does not share the same religious dogma as Ciaran?

Are you also aware that Ciaran doesn't share the same religious dogma as the Ciaran you have made up in your head?

I must have mentioned I was non religious in thread about 5 times Rebs. You would think that was the only comeback they had.

I don't agree with people randomly getting babies in the womb tested, just in case.

You need just reason to get these tests carried out...some of the tests can actually cause disability.

If you do get a test done, then you need to be prepared to potentially hear bad news.

Now, if the news is your future child is disabled...what do you do?

If you can tell that it is disabled then it is a child, not a future child. Getting tests done, aborting kids until you get a perfect one.

Was that really Dr Mengele the Yids brought back from Argentina?

There are a few on here who don't give a **** about what you write, they'll take a swipe at a rationale you haven't offered. A recurring theme on here with generally the same culprits.

I declare the winners as you and Gambol. There at least appeared an accord that it is a matter of opinions.

, ok, bad choice of words...remember I agreed with your definition of a child.

There maybe a just reason for the tests...

That's why I ignored that fud Aldo's comment Rebel, no point. He would probably just repeat it 10 minutes after.
