I'll bypass all the nonsense written on this article (it seems to have been invaded by 5 years olds) to ask a serious question, what is wrong with abortion, especially when it seems to be the only way to prevent a woman from ruining her future and the life of someone yet to be born, as long as the abortion is carried out relatively early in the pregnancy, it's just the removal of a parasite that couldn't possibly survive outside its protective environment?

A "parasite" is an unfortunate choice of wording but you make a relevant point about the timing of the abortion. When my missus and I were having problems with our first pregnancy we were told by doctors we should abort for medical reasons, I'm not sure I'd make the same choice if it happened again, but we didn't take them up on the option anyway.

23 weeks into the pregnancy they reminded us one last time that we only had 1 week to chose an abortion because the mother's life was not in danger - they then went on to tell us that if we didn't chose the abortion the baby would be "viable" outside the womb at 25 weeks.

So hold on here, there is a week difference between a viable baby and a legal abortion - surely that's a bit morally ambiguous? I mean if we were to wait for a week for the baby to be born, I was to sneak into it's incubator room and strangle the thing, then I would quite rightly be arrested and charged with murder - yet one week earlier 'It's a woman's choice'?

Anyway I'm not so sure I am against abortion very early in pregnancy, I just struggle to reconcile the moral differences between destroying a nearly developed unborn baby and one that just happens to have left the womb.

Medro when did I laugh at the Omagh bomb? I fear your copy and paste job has been wasted.

Pud.

Yes.

Yes.

Was your Da not a gun carrying member of the British Army? And you lecture others on morals? Lolzy.

I'll answer upon my (probable drunken) return.

Dont come on hear with yer fake stories to strike up a bullshit debate on morality ...

"oh look at me, I'm against abortion so I am, I'm a wonderful human being!"

It's as fake as Medro's concern for GC chat to be educated on news stories (involving the catholic church).

A supporter of a cowardly gang of murdering bastards and a liar to boot! I think she (who doesn't exist) should have the abortion so the we have one less **** like you!

we were given similar options with 1 of mine, but refused based on religious grounds/teachings.

unfortunately the whole 'life' debate when in relation to abortion doesnt tie in with the science. eg pain and when the baby feels it etc

its 'window dressing' to make it easier to accept

You're a twat: "I had to log back in" - translation "I'm just pretending to go out and have a life but I'm going to sit on here not logged in and watch peoples replies".

Away n get an actual ride ya mess <ok>

Leave the bedsit cairan, walk into the light!

What a tit <laugh>

I don't agree with abortion and would never choose that for my own. But sometimes I think it's a mercy if the child is likely to born into a life of neglect, poverty or abuse. I couldn't possibly make the decision for someone else, but nor would I want to aid and abet in something I saw as a crime.

Can someone else not help her?

Tell her that if she aborts the baby you'll pump a new one into her

And on the comedic value of bombs....well, aren't they all a blast?

Right girls, it isn't happening. Young Ciaran will be sitting in today. No **** is biting for a few pints. Yes I know, I really don't have any mates and I'm sitting in my bedsit (Lolz Pud) in my boxers with a tin of cider.

Text that girl that I might have been a bit short earlier but I'll help her out if she wants. No reply.

Jip, no. She's a 31 year old professional. It's lifestyle.
