Sounds like he'll be on the bench for West Spam at home. The other 2 I presume are Lenihan and Van Ginkel if its doable

The Visa thing is a weird one.
He must have had a visa to get in to have his medical. No doubt it would be a visiting Visa.

I have never understood why he then needs to leave the country and return on a working one. It all sounds a little old fashioned.

Two weeks?

HULL CITY AFC have obtained a work permit for Uruguay striker Abel Hernandez, but do not expect to see him arrive at the club for two weeks.

The 24-year-old is expected to wrap up his £10m move from Palermo over the weekend, but still has to obtain a visa before he can train with the Tigers.

With an international breaking following tomorrow’s trip to Aston Villa, he will have to link up with his national side for their friendlies against Japan and South Korea next week.

But Bruce is confident the Tigers have done all they can to get his signature signed sealed and delivered before Monday’s 11pm transfer deadline.

He told the Mail: “We’re obviously close to Hernandez. There are a few tiny little bits to sort out but I expect him to be a Hull player by the time the transfer window closes.

“He’s got to go outside the country and get his visa so there’s no chance of him playing at Villa. Then he’s got international duty with his team so we won’t see him for a couple of weeks though.”

Eager to strengthen his squad before the deadline passes, Bruce is working hard to secure two more deals and has admitted being keen on Chelsea midfielder Marco Van Ginkel.

However, he is not sure the Blues are willing to offload the midfielder, who has also been linked with a season-long loan to AC Milan.

Explaining his transfer plans, Bruce said: “I expect two or three in. Talks are ongoing.

“We’ve lost the creativity that Robert Snodgrass would have given us, so we’ll try to find a replacement if we possibly can. We are looking at all avenues.

Asked about a move for Van Ginkel, 21, he added: “I don’t know if it’s possible that Chelsea would let him go out.

“Obviously, there’s a few clubs that have been linked with him and if he became available then of course we would be interested. But I’m not so sure that he is available.”

Meanwhile, Bruce has dismissed speculation linking midfielder Sejad Salihovic with a move from Hoffenheim and says there is nothing in it.

At this stage, he is also not expecting anyone to leave the KC and admits strengthening his squad remains the priority.

I wonder if Lenihan will be going into our first team or development squad. If it's the development squad we will still need another midfielder. Is Sinclair still available?

Im sure he will have a few personal things to sort in italy aswell as a visa! ....i just think its getting pretty close to the window now, and I fear we may not have a striker!

Why ? It is a done deal.

Until I see him roll out by city , I wont be 100% happy, 55 years of supporting city teaches you , "to never count your chicken before they hatch" to many disappointment's at the last minute (i.e. Long last year) and the more we big it up,the bigger laughing stock we become, if it goes tits up.
Not being negative, just trying to keep my feet on ground this is uncharted sea's for city mega deal's for overseas players we don't do everyday.

I think you are reading to much into it.
If the fee is agreed and he has passed a medical and agreed terms with us and has a work permit then we can register him. The work permit is the key part in all this and SB said that is done. So I would imagine the registration has already been sent in.

Yes he is and along with Micah Richards, Mataja Nastasic and John Guidetti he has been told he is free to find another club before the transfer deadline (Free as in Man City don't want them, not necessarily that they will cost nothing i guess)

Cool I think he's someone Bruce should maybe be looking at young English. Although I think they wanted £5 million for him would still pay 2 million more on him than Diame.

Yeah its strange but other countries make you jump thru the same hoops. When I was on a temporary visa in the US I had to go to Canada every year to get it renewed.

You are getting a visa to enter the country, makes sense that you cant be in the country when you get it.
