I'd rather have Rhodes How many of you think that it's a lot to pay for someone who's never scored in the PL
I like the sound of like for like with Long, except he'll obviously be way more skilful as he's Uruguayan and called Hernandez. I don't like the sound of his injury record, his poor scoring form, his character and the fact no one knows if he speaks English. Stay away I reckon.
Can't see us spending £9.6 Million on Hernandez and then another £12 Million + on Rhodes. The 20 goal a season striker is a bit of a myth in the Premier League nowadays isn't it? If Hernandez (assuming he comes) and Jelavic get 20 between them this season then that would do us very nicely.
But as a smaller club in the grand scheme of things, players we are linked with will have these doubts hanging around them. The top dollar players with less shortcomings in their play will head to the big clubs in Europe. If we get choosey we could be scraping the barrel on Monday.
Well I'd hope we would as once we've got Hernandez and Rhodes in the door we need another goalscorer who can get 10+!!! I think we'll probably see Hernandez, Rhodes and possibly Wickham come in this week.
This is exactly the level of insight this thread has been lacking. I like the fact that he is Abel and that he has probably built up some good Mafia links. I don't like the fact that anybody who has seen him play appears to be saying he's not worth the price we appear to be offering or his taste in shoes. On balance, probably sign him.
on a serious note I can see Wickham running down his contract contrary to what Sunderland want and leaving next summer a free agent
Football Italia's take on him rejecting Benfica. Nothing on us yet but if there's something in this then it will appear, it's a very on the ball website: http://www.football-italia.net/54921/abel-hernandez-no-benfica
Why is it fishing to post something stupid? You might as well post anything idiotic and factually incorrect and then when people reply go "aaaargh, got you".
